I Don't Own Anything. No copyright infringment intended. Lyrics below.
June was the lobster shell,
I dug by hand, a haven that hid me well,
Beneath the sand,
The white windy waves washed in,
But I stayed dry,
The great breakers broke again,
'Cause I'm on and off inside.
And then, when the empress run aground,
And my eyes turned blue and green,
I heard a gorgeous sound,
And that's when it became a dream,
When the sky fell in,
When the hurricanes came for me,
I could finally crash again,
And that's how I became the sea.
I wrenched the engines off,
And dragged them down,
The depths turned the iron soft,
As they swiftly drowned,
And I brought the ocean side,
To its rusty knees,
As I felt the even tide,
Deep in my shallow dreams.
And then, when the empress run aground,
And my eyes turned blue and green,
I heard a gorgeous sound,
And that's when it became a dream,
When the sky fell in,
When the hurricanes came for me,
I could finally crash again,
And that's how I became the sea.
(When the sky fell in),
When the sky fell in,
(When the sky fell in),
When the hurricanes came for me,
I could finally crash again,
And that's how I became the sea,
That's how I became the sea,
That's how I became the sea.

I was about 13-14 when I first heard this song. Forgot all about it until I had my baby girl several months ago. Her ocean eyes reminded me of it. ❤️🌊

This song is ABSOLUTELY the most underrated track of All Things Bright And Beautiful. This is an exquisite work of art. I can't believe how pleasant this is to listen to no matter how many times I play it.

how did the lower quality upload of this song get more popular? this one is higher quality, and it’s and older video, this just baffles me.

Have listened to Owl City for years. Why is this the first time I've heard this masterpiece!?

For some reason starting at 1:14 it's kind of nostalgic like my whole life flashing before my eyes. And I have only known about Owl City for about a year and a half.

This song is just... WOWZA. It’s one of the most unique songs I’ve ever heard, truly. I wish SO BADLY it was on All Things Bright and Beautiful. This and Shy Violet. This is just so imaginative and mysterious. It takes you to another world. It’s like something you’d hear in a dream.
  • When I listen to this song, all of a sudden I became that kid who was in the school, with no worries, with no responsibilities.
