It’s a scarf AND a mask, attached! I’m so excited to share this idea that I came up with, and I think It just might be your favorite accessory this winter : )
*UPDATE: conversions for metric measurements
1 yard length (@ 00:50) = 36 inches = 91.44 cm
22 inches in height, folded (folded fabric @ 00:58)= 55.88 cm
44 inches in height, unfolded (unfolded fabric @1:01 )= 111.76 cm

you will need:
-sewing machine & thread
-1 yard of knit flannel fabric
-1 "fat quarter" of cotton broadcloth (for mask liner/backing)
-elastic for the mask

If you know how to make face masks already, you can skip ahead to 4:33 to get to the scarf part of the tutorial

Seriously people ... stop with the negative comments. By now, most of the world is well aware of how the virus is spread. And many of us respect others by wearing a mask. So ANY mask is better than no mask and most of us who have chosen to make own own, know well enough to wash our masks, just like we do our underwear. I'm sorry for the sarcasm but when someone takes the time to create a tutorial for others and shares it, the least we can do is respect them and if you have nothing positive to say, then keep your comments to yourself. As for this tutorial and idea ... it's terrific ... thanks for sharing it.

I thought it was a great tutorial. I’ve made a couple of hundred masks, and realize the importance of having a washable mask. But if somebody wants to wear this, I’m sure they’re smart enough to Wear it, take it off and wash it. I’m 70 and when I get home from going anywhere these days, I wash whatever I wore, including scarves. I actually thought it was a very innovative idea and quite lovely of her to share it. For those who don’t like it, don’t make it. Those of us who like it will make, it wear it and wash it. There’s a plethora of good cotton washable fabrics out there, that you could make something like this out of. And since I don’t go out daily at this point of my life it’s not a big deal to wear it and go home and wash it. Great job, young lady!
