Looking at other comments here, it seems that Duo got rid of the labels for each lesson (e.g., Objects, Past Tense 3, etc.) and the grammar tips that go with each lesson. I think thatâs a terrible move. I love how it is (or was) organized the old way and I study all the grammar tips along the way. The tips are important to me. đ˘

Can't wait for the speedrun where you have to learn a language that doesn't have Latin characters like Arabic, Japanese, or Korean (Also, I like the amount of milliseconds you ended at)

It isn't because you're slow, it's the update. Duolingo has decided that making a long, grindy course is more important to them than making one that teaches effectively.

As a Romanian-American and long time subscriber, I was really surprised when the random number generator landed on Romanian. I feel like itâs definitely the forgotten romance language. Honestly though, your pronunciations were really good! The only word that was a little wonky was barbat, itâs more like burr-baat (baa like a sheep) Also, the word for beard is actually barba, so you were right about that connection!! Loved the video <3

As a Romanian, I was surprised by your pronunciation. It was really good, sometimes sounded kind of Moldovan tho lol.

I have a 58-day streak on Duolingo Romanian, I started learning because of my bf (he's Romanian and his mom can't speak English so I decided to be super impressive and learn Romanian ofc) IT HAS BEEN SUCH A PAIN but this is the longest I've kept a language so far, I haven't missed a day and girl- you did more in 2 hours than I did in a month. I genuinely thought you'd have a harder time with it but i suppose i'm just a bit slow-

In my own opinion, the new update is not very good. They had absolutely no reason to do it, it really made it weird for long-term users of Duolingo. Personally, I'm not a fan, but I am a fan of these speedruns!

As someone learning French and especially as someone who knows how hard it is to learn, the "please don't be French" you chanted during the number generator was really funny.

Me (a romanian chad) watching a person who speaks American, butchering my chad balkan language and saying that it is just a combination of french and Italian with a slavic and turkish twist.. Also, when you said âEuâ is pronounced like âyoâ in Spanish, i felt that, bc many of us use this in informal speech, even tho the correct form is pronounced âieuâ

The reason why it is so linear now is that now EVERYTHING is mixed into the path, from practices, to stories, to brand new lessons. Also, the reason why it is eerily similar looking to mobile games like Candy Crush is merely an attempt to make it look more fun, at least, that's what it looks like to my understanding. The new look may also just be an attempt to market it more towards mobile game players.

I personally love the new design! It's more manageable in my opinion - I do however think it's a shame that they removed the grammar tips :( They were really essential for my learning journey
