Would love to see the whole evolution of each different chassis too- converting each tank into more heavily armored tanks or even into spgs

Kind of gives the vibe that two companies designed the vehicle. One company being tasked with the development of a hull and engine, and the other being tasked with the creation of a turret capable of mounting current and potential guns. The design dissonance makes me think that the two were designed with limited contact between factories.

A few ideas for making each country's tanks unique: 1. Come up with (or determine from your map) the type of environment each country (or its borders) has. That will obviously affect camo choice (of tanks designed for that border) but also could come up with unique situations/explanations. The mud scraper is a good example, why do Chisford tanks have them? Maybe Chisford has a lot of swamps, or maybe it's a deliberate design since there could be swampland/river delta in and around Braswest, where they intend to see the most action. 2. You mentioned funny caliber and the countries not really knowing what they're doing, maybe each country/alliance has standardized calibers of weapon. So for example Chisford makes a 42mm standard gun (which is why it is on this tank--they had it available), while their Northern Alliance deliberately use 41mm so Chisford can't plunder ammunition, but the Southern Alliance could use 1.5 inch rounds instead (which also highlights that even measurement systems are different across borders)

You could do this in conjunction with Messier82 ! He's doing a similar series in Flyout where he imagined a fictional country and the evolution of its fighter
  • @Von_Aerospike
This is a very neat little concept! I'd love to see how the story progresses, and how the tanks are built. Maybe if there's enough traction, and if you've got the time for it lol, you could branch out into making planes in flyout for some of the nations too :)
  • @bwazyy
It would be super cool to also make some planes for said country in flyout, like from WW1 - WW2 - Early jets - etc etc as the country progresses
  • would be cool to see some community designs potentially for the other nations. Would love to see this a series!

I've thought about doing this but I don't have a PC so I can't have sprocket. But I've made my country with a bunch of lore it's called mauriza. The reason I bring this up is that there was a civil war in 1976-1982 And the US and USSR we're involved, after the war mauriza had a bunch of American and Russian tanks lying around so they decided to do some experimenting. In the universe I created, there's a famous photo of an m48 turret on a T64 hull, mauriza's modern tanks follow a similar principle of Western like turrets and Eastern like hulls. One thing I wanted to add is that during world war II they created two of their own unique calibers such as the 108 mm Cannon and the 18.7 x 120mm antimaterial round that still see service into the modern age.
  • @meepmerp6935
If the turret is more advanced than the hull, maybe the newer variants will ditch the hull for a cast turret
  • Totally dig this idea for a Vid Series! :D I've pondered what i'd consider doin for myself when I ever eventually begin playing this game, when I get ready to. Current possible idea: Trying to make my own Logo and Roleplay as a Mercenary Company that does its own Resource Mining and Construction of its equipment and vehicles, and run by me myself who is prone to liking to experiment and isn't afraid to be unorthodox... and thinks Fenders look and feel like the Tank equivalent of wearing Skirts and Skirts are for Sissies! ;P Imagine how cool it'd be if we could eventually take ideas like this even farther and make Created Character-like Troops to operate various kinds of Tanks of various kinds of Strats and Roles... then be able to make Custom Uniforms with Custom Badges & Patches and such, even being able to incorporate Custom Logos into the Badges/Patches? :D I'm already curious how this bold charge into War is gonna pan out... though I can't fault this Lone Industrial Nation a bit on its Paranoia... especially cause i've played Valkyria Chronicles in the past... (Though sadly didn't manage to beat it before my Play Log got interrupted... if I ever manage to play it again, i'll probably have to start over from the beginning cause i'll have forgotten too much of it.) Edit: Oops, forgot to say this the first time... My prediction, is the opposition is caught grossly outgunned and out-armored by this new War Machine and gets desperate and resorts to Battlefield-style driving suicide vehicles armed with mass explosives trying to stop it. Thus, i'm makin a guesstimate that this Industrial Nation's next Tank will be a fast maneuverable Tank with a smaller but fast firing and really fast reloading Gun and fast as possible Turret Rotation Speed, seeking to blow away the swarm of explosive vehicles cannibalized from emergency drafted smaller vehicles ranging from Cars to Jeeps.

Building things based on a fantasy world and its lore is super cool! Would love to see a you develop a tech tree which I reckon will get more and more difficult with the war advancing and the nations trying to counter each other and some working together. Side note though: I know this video is obviously focused on the tank design but I would've very much appreciated you kept the world map up while explaining the lore to make it easier to follow along.
  • @trainraider9571
We need such a series (I’ve been waiting since i know Sprocket)
  • The KSP music during the timelapse caught me so off guard I genuinely thought I was just imagining it and I almost gave myself a mental breakdown until... I paused the video and realisation struck me like a ton of bricks...
  • It kind of looks like a BT tank with a panther turret also as a Nation Roleplayer I love the lore for this
  • @salxrn
i dont know where to leave this suggestion on the server but for one of the countries make them surprise attack based so they mostly utilise cheap and fast light tanks/tankettes that are generally pretty weak but do well in ambush situations
  • @Culpride
I really enjoyed this video. The context of a fantasy setting that still consideres the manufacturing expenses and experience of workers, it's cool, it's interesting and it doesn't bear the weight of historical accuracy or any real world suffering that is associated with actual war machinery. Also the fantasy maps are super nice. I can totally imagine the borders shifting and with it different requirements for tank designs. "Enemy dug wider trenches in the soft fertile ground we try to conquer? - We need longer tracks. The enemy retreated into the mountains? We need to be able to climb steeper inclines and also way more fuel since field refueling up there is not an option." I can see so many more scenarios.

Maybe a super shortened version like the tretarch, and 2 drivers, 1 for reverse, and possibly a rear machinegun, 1 for the usual driving, and a commander gunner in some heinously small turret to give off that “My cousin had this design, and since I’m the head of the project I get to submit this concept” feel
