I haven't seen anyone mention it in the top comments, but Schumann's last piece being here is a joke! He was in pretty serious mental torment towards the end of his life, claiming that spirits would play music in his head. His last piece is, according to him, directly transposed from the music of those spirits. Thus, literally, ghost-written.

In case anyone else has no idea what's going on, here's what I've pieced together so far: * "Only connect" is a TV show, and the host is in this panel. * The hieroglyphs meant nothing, that was just a reference to the format. * The correct answer was "they all had ghost writers".
