A nationwide curfew that was supposed to end Sunday in Bangladesh has been extended 'indefinitely'.
Telecommunications have also been suspended - effectively isolating the country.
Those measures are in place to deter protests against the government's jobs quota system - which have seen violent police crackdowns.
At least 114 people have been killed, and thousands injured.
The country's Supreme Court is now meeting and is expected to hand down a decision on the quota system in the coming hours.

Al Jazeera’s Tanvir Chowdhury has the latest from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

  • They killed hundreds of students and telling them to call upon meeting !? Demanding justice is a crime in Bangladesh

Reservations policies should be abolished completely in education and in government jobs & promotions.

It's been almost 72 hours without a broadband connection in Bangladesh. We're struggling to communicate with our family. Direct calls are dropping, making it almost impossible to understand even a sentence; even messages have not been delivered since yesterday. The ruling government has violated International Human Rights Law under many articles, including using helicopters to drop tear gas & shoot targeting protesters, and cutting off users from internet access. This autocratic government should receive condemnation from all countries without further delay.

I am not able to understand anything. The court has given the decision. What is the fault of government that they are protesting soo violently ? I don't know if Bangladesh constitution allows ordinance or not.
  • Autocratic leader Sheikh Hasina is making arbitrary decisions on peaceful students, common people with her system of politicians, police and army. We want to be saved from this misdeed. I request the big countries to come forward. Protect the students and people of Bangladesh, please help.
