You'll want to check out Rex Murphy's full speech at the Manning Centre Red Deer conference. Rex of course had much to say about what's currently going on with our energy sector in Canada.

It was an honour to introduce Rex and great to hear him speak.

I’m revisiting this wonderful presentation from Rex Murphy, a great Canadian first and foremost. R.I.P. Rex.

This was a perfect presentation of why I am proud to be Canadian. I almost cried, then I laughed so loud I woke my kids up......... thanks for showing REX’s speech (one of the few reasons I ever listened to CBC in the past). We are a proud nation, now if only we can get rid of the lefties and the SJWs we can go back to being great again.

God bless Canada. May Alberta show Canada the way to freedom. Quite refreshing to hear Rex Murphy views.
  • Love, Love, Love Rex Murphy. He truly is a National Treasure! One of the joys of Friday is, his weekly piece in the ‘National Post’. Thank You for posting this! Soberingly Profound and Uproaringly Hilarious all at once.

I have always listened to Rex going all the way back to the Cross Country Checkup show on CBC. I used to listen to his show when I was working in the Oil and Gas fields of Western Canada. Rex has a particular talent of summing up any situation with insightfulness and humor. God bless Rex he serves Canada well.

I grew up in Quebec and currently live in Ontario. I spent my early years in the turmoil of the Quebec language and separatist movement. We finally seem to have a united country as far as that issue goes. I support Alberta's right to take advantage of its natural resources. I despise the hypocrisy that is Canadian politics. The idea that the TM pipeline that already has a right of way and been in operation for 60+ years cannot be expanded is ridiculous. If we can receive oil from ME tankers on the east coast, why can we not ship the same product from the west? And why can we not build EE to safely transport oil to existing refining capacity in the east? I have always stood for a united Canada, but I have come to the realization that unless all Canadians wake up and work together, the country is once again at risk of falling apart.

Rex Murphy, once again with his wit and humour, gives us the reminder of how we became a great country. What is happening today in Ottawa, is a lesson on how we undo it all.
  • Rex I love your show I used to watch you a lot on the behalf of most Canadians I miss you

Great speech! I laughed and cried! I will not give up being proud to be Canadian. If we don't stand up, we won't have a country worth anything!

Albertan here heading to the rally in Edmonton City Hall at 12 noon Saturday!!!! Thanks Rex for the pep talk I need that and the belly laughter with tears of pride. We need to stand up to this criminal act caused by a kakistocracy!!! Definition: noun meaning a government by the least qualified, most stupid members.
  • @AWalkingHat
Amazing conference. So true. My late father loved Rex Murphy. He would have been delighted to hear this.

This is must view watching for Canadians who don't have the historical perspective of what has kept this country going through good times and bad, sickness and in health, till death do us part. God bless you Rex.
