The Silverbell-Sasco Loop in Arizona offers a scenic desert drive through historic mining areas. Enjoy picturesque landscapes, abandoned structures, and a glimpse into the region's mining history.

Embark on a captivating journey through Arizona's history and landscape with the Silverbell-Sasco Loop, a route that seamlessly blends modern industry with remnants of the past. The Titan Missile Interpretive Center, a key stop on the loop, offers a unique opportunity to explore the Cold War era. This decommissioned missile site provides insight into the nation's nuclear history, showcasing the massive Titan II missile and its underground launch control center. Guided tours and engaging exhibits make this a must-visit destination for those intrigued by the technological and political complexities of the mid-20th century.

Continuing along the loop, the modern Silverbell Mine comes into view, representing the ongoing mining activities in the region. The contemporary operation contrasts with the historical remnants nearby, illustrating the evolution of mining technology and practices over time. The loop provides a window into the present-day significance of mining in Arizona, a state with a rich mineral heritage.

Sasco Ghost Town adds a touch of nostalgia to the journey, offering a glimpse into the past when this area was a thriving mining community. Abandoned structures and remnants of old buildings stand as echoes of the town's former glory. Exploring Sasco Ghost Town provides a poignant reminder of the boom-and-bust cycles that characterize the history of many Western mining towns. The Silverbell-Sasco Loop thus becomes a multifaceted exploration, intertwining the threads of Arizona's past and present in a scenic and educational adventure.

Another great off road adventure! The camping videos are my favourite but a close second are these drives to places I likely won’t be able to get to. It was nice to hear Slim again and thanks to Amy for the well done behind the scenes work! Btw….nice t-shirt.

This was cool, thanks for sharing. My friend sent this to me - we grew up in north Tucson together and used to go out here to party in high school. We just called it "Red Rocks" due to the nearby water tower/exit/small farming community at I-10 which has now grown into a full on housing development. I had many...let's just say, formative experiences, in that desert!

Thanks for the great video of beautiful America and being a true American buying American supporting America !
  • Glad to see Glenn and Slim "on the road again"! That ICBM silo was wild. Loved your references to the idiocy that spawns all that graffiti, as well as that short clip of Doc Holliday from Tombstone. Yes i sure did miss the road trips, thanks for a great comeback! 💫🏜️✨🌵

Excellent video and thanks for the history lesson. We came across SASCO about 5 months ago by complete accident, and as a ghost town lover I was in heaven. We tried again in early February, but turned around at the water crossing after watching a truck nearly get stuck in the high water. Thank you again, your videos are truly exceptional.

Nice to have you back Slim, great video great adventure Cactus
  • Silverbell Mine & Sasco Loop are inspiring. The views are amazing as are the mountains. Slim's narration is on point. Love you guys. Take care.
  • First and foremost, gotta say that adding Slim AI's voice as an interactive tool is genius! He's kinda like the guy that will truly say what he's thinking...no filter! lol...wink wink! Not that Glenn isn't great by himself, but it adds a little more to the videos...and no one else is doing this that I've seen. This was a fun one for sure!

Excellent video Glenn & Amy, excellent!
  • That's a really cool loop. Sasco looks amazing. I'd seen it in a book but sadly there weren't any pictures so had no idea how it looked. The big question is, where can we get the Cactus Atlas shirts?

I’m inclined to like Slim and wonder how he works because we travel a lot by car and his ability to navigate is impressive. We missed the Rooster Cogburn ostrich farm not knowing how interesting it is and Slim might have informed us about it? We enjoy your videos and we are falling in love with Arizona the more we visit enough I want to move there. Thank you 🙏

What a fun little trip. I'm disappointed I didn't make that trip when I lived in Tucson those moons ago. I enjoyed the Silverbell Copper Mine or remnants of the best. Nice to have you back, Slim!
