    Wow.......Different times for sure.....I'd like to see anyone get into one of those old boats and try that today. One race was 580 miles....OMG!!! Those boats were state of the art back then and to look back makes it me glad to see how the technology moved forward to build safer and even faster boats. Even though they they rarely get more then a mile from shore and race much shorter distances these days dangerously deadly things still happen. Very Cool History Lesson.

    I own the 24 Nova @ 8:50 The boat is a tank. Built for only a season or maybe two it now 44 years old (2012) and good to go. You are also looking at the original Nova (built by Nova Marine) later sold to WellCraft who built thousands of them in many different styles by lengthening or shortening the original molds.

    Are those twin turbo engines based on the super seamaster ford engines or am I seeing the marine turbo project Reggie Fountain worked on before he founded his boat company?
  • I’m not entirely sure but I think my grandfather raced with some of these guys all I know is he raced in a boat that had beep beep on the side of it and that he was the man who controlled the throttle his name is Wayne Vicker please let me know If you know anything about him racing bosts
