I've known 2 sawmill operator/owners who did quarter saw for basic boards and beams. Thanks for the refresher! One was taking down old log Cabins in Virginia with 100- 200 year old chestnut logs to make paneling and beams. He did rift, quarter and plain saw depending on the wood and purpose.

I like the way you saw the pith out of that wood!
  • Great video and useful information. I will be sawing for the first time shortly and this will help me. Thank you 16:37
  • Useful information I’ve always wondered what they were talking about when they said quarter sawn wood .

Good morning Brock. Excellent video Brock. Even this old dog learned a new trick today. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

I gave some thought on why you have unfinished tasks, as an example your clean-up work. You're always having to constantly think of new content for the channel. And doing that on a daily basis is just going to create unfinished tasks or interrupted projects. Don't be too hard on yourself. The rest of us don't have that excuse to not finish our projects.
  • Great learning/teaching topic/video today. I always learn something from your content that I didn’t ever think about and after watching I will take a deeper dive into the topic on my own to learn all that I can about it…. 🔥🔥👍👍

If you pay attention to your lumber that you buy at box stores, you’ll see they don’t cull anything and if you don’t cull it when you pick it out, you will end up kicking yourself in the long run. Great explanation Brock! I’d say the majority of their support posts are juvenile wood and junk in my opinion.
