I think what people need to understand is that just because superman is super strong, doesn't mean he HAS to use his power all of the time. Like One Punch Man like you referenced in the video.

You could have different "stances" for superman in the sense that when dealing with normal enemies, he could use just shoves and grapples to disable enemies instead of hitting them full force. And when tougher enemies show up, you change stance and show more power/moves. His abilities could scale with each stance as well. Heat vision enough to just burn someone's hand, scales up to a beam that cuts, too eventually an optic blast. And speed could be interpreted differently, one speeds up your character, while another version just slows down your perception of time.

I like how you're not too far off from what I had in mind. In regards to bosses in the game, here's my thought. 1. Toy man, or someone basic to introduce you to the boss fight mechanics. 2. Metallo- Introduces you to the kyrytonite mechanic, that limits your abilities and weakens your attacks. Also a pre Lex Luthor fight. Linking to Lex Luthor being the villain. 3. Parasite- Boss that drains your health, and you have to defeat him quickly. Minion like Parasite will show up, along with Metallo minions that you will see in open world. 4. Bizarre clone- Boss that mimics your attacks, but isn't weakened the same way you are, and you must find a way to weaken him. 5. Mr. Mistiplyxk- He alters reality and messes with your strength and abilities at random. 6. Livewire- A Boss dealing with speed and timing. Getting from one place to another. 7. Lex Luthor- A combination of all villains, but also a Boss that gives you quick side missions. 8. Doomsday- Secret Boss Fight. Too OP and involves you making the right choices at the right time.
  • We could really give him magic enemies to fight. Then you won’t have the problem with him holding back against his foes and he also has a reason to be harmed by the enemies while it not making him weaker by just being around him

With lex Luther as the villain, they could create some really interesting strategies and quests. He always puts Superman in a dilemma
  • I love the idea of Superman being involved all over the world and facing intergalactic threats. I would suggest Superman being able to use more of his speed outer space or even in the upper atmosphere.
  • @takichavez
They should definitely add destructible buildings if they were to make a superman game
  • I think a AAA Superman game should take some inspiration from sonic frontiers because of those Super Sonic boss fights. I think spectacle like that combined with a high budget could make for one heck of a Superman game. 🔥

Someone please hire Sadot as a consultant. I would RUN to get a Smallville/Superman game with an arc that slowly adds powers. Could also make them start off with varying levels of strength, as well as basic action skills where each power is added as a "basic" power but then like Zelda you are later able to master different combinations of Superman's powers. Loving your videos 🙏

I always said for years that a Superman game would be as hard as people say but you have to come at it from the right angle and like you basically said starting off from an origin start point is the way to go but I had it where you start of with a few of his abilities such as super strength, super speed, super jump and super breathe as a nod to the very early days of golden age Superman but you will unlock his other powers through specific missions like his freezing breath which would unlock with an encounter that relies on you to use it to rescue people with in and would lead into a boss battle with Parasite who is a villain that is too dangerous to touch as he can absorb powers and energy so the battle mechanic would be built around encasing him in ice to damage him and avoiding physical contact with him trying to grapple and drain Superman, also other powers like his X-ray vision could be used to solve puzzles and discover clues that lead to a mission or unlockables.
  • @1punchusleep628
I think a Green Arrow game would be more interesting just based on how he became Arrow, so the progression is natural instead of forced.
  • @carlfox5976
Another good way of doing it is having a power bar. Everytime you use an ability your energy drains and you need sunlight to build it back up. This will make gameplay more tactical.
  • I'm not feeling the whole "EVIL SUPERMAN " trope, myself. Give me something hopeful. Superman deserves a lot better than tthat.
  • All these concepts are GREAT! I like the idea of building up powers over time and I felt that way for years…however…what if they gave you the full scope of his powers right away and it was up to you the player to learn to use them with laser-like precision? Rather than bouncing off buildings you might smash right through it or take down buildings with heat vision. This collateral damage might affect the public’s view of you and force the player to become super-precise when using god-like powers in a densely populated city. The skill curve would be going from “MoS Bull in a China Shop” to “One-Hit Headshot” type of skill.
  • This is the best Superman game idea I have heard, to date. I had an idea where the game could be more investigative, than straight-up "Superman/Metropolis sandbox" as you stated. So, my idea would have a lot of Clark and Lois' work for The Daily Planet, solving problems and mysteries, sort of like the George Reeves' episodes, but obviously with a modern take. Or maybe it could be retro? Season 1 of The Adventures of Superman was often gangster driven. Anyways, we certainly need something far more textured than a game like Superman Returns, where it feels like it is mainly fighting robots. I would much rather a game that followed the story of Superman The Movie (1978) than what we've seen in the past. But as I say, I like your take on it more than any other, including my own ideas. I love the progressive nature of your game. I would actually buy a new console, if I had to, just to play it.

In addition to your great ideas: Simply include a kryptonite threat you have to overcome. If Lex is the main threat he would outfit his minions appropriately. Think synthesized but weaker than original kryptonite. Will weaken Superman man but no too much.

Let’s go. I think your concept of the Superman game would be refreshing and much needed. We’re so tired of the same boring games and hype got releases. That have been flops. We haven’t seen a next Gen game really. This is crazy… I’m ready for a open world Superman game next Gen. With a good story.
