Hey friends, I'm starting to make short-form content on Instagram. Get the goods at instagram.com/mattdavella

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that's been said to increase mindfulness, flexibility & strength. But how will we know if it's actually legit until a white 33 year old YouTuber gives it a shot for himself? In this video, I try yoga for 30 days to see if I experience the proclaimed benefits. Will it be something I bring into my daily routine going forward?

Namaste friends! It took me wayyyyy too long to give yoga a try but I'm so glad I did. I've included some links and resources in the description above so if you want to give yoga a shot, I highly recommend you check those out. What 30 day experiment do you want me to try next?

Yoga is one of the overhyped things that ACTUALLY deserves all the hype

1 week from now: Matt: "Hello Yogis, welcome back to Yoga With Matt..."
  • @Simpsfan300
I started yoga 3 months ago and the difference is night and day. I feel stronger, more balanced, more energetic, and a lot happier. The only regret I have is not starting sooner.
  • Yoga with Kassandra changed my life. I was depressed and unflexible 12 months ago. Now I have a more positive outlook and love my time doing yoga everyday.
  • If you ever feel stuck in a rut, try doing something like Matt does in this video. Learn a new skill and practise it every day for 30 days. It will increase your curiosity which increase our daily happiness and sense of wonder about the world. It will also build up your self esteem when you realise just how much you can improve yourself within 30 days. Keep going my friend, I believe in you ā¤ļø

Notice how Matt goes pro and starts doing yoga outside sometimes
  • I found yoga about nine years ago, when I was 62. Started out slowly, shorter classes and trying to do better at the basic poses. Now, I go for two hours a day, five days a week. It makes a big difference in my flexibility, strength and attitude. Yoga has become a part of my life. Stick with it, and you'll find it can really help make you a better person, both physically and spiritually.

I was ridiculously happy when your first yoga practice was with Yoga With Adriene šŸ˜†

Yoga with Adriene x Matt D'Avella is the crossover I didn't know I needed.
  • I definitely noticed as a man doing yoga that we're taught the pinnacle of masculinity is strength above all else. I know lots of guys even athletes that struggle with flexibility and balance because they focus so much on strength building. Yoga for me is a good reminder that there are many aspects of a healthy body and mind, and everything is about balance.

Great story...I fell in love with yoga in college and have been taking classes ever since ..I am 72 years young and did my 200 Hr training at 70 and I am now a yoga instructor! I love Adriene!

Alright mate - post lockdown letā€™s get you surfing every day for 30 days šŸ‘ŠšŸ¾šŸŒŠ

A huge principle of yoga is always approaching your practice as a beginner. The moment we believe we no longer have something to learn is when our ego steps in. As a yoga teacher I can 100% agree that teaching a beginners class teaches me the most. So glad you've enjoyed yoga. šŸ’•

"I don't know why I've been talking shit about it for the past... my entire life" - that killed me šŸ˜‚
  • Proud to be an Indian, a country which taught the world the importance of yoga , love long India

I started doing yoga a few years ago and my back pain has basically vanished and I'm a lot more grounded in many ways than I was before. It's not only helped me with flexibility physically, but also mentally and emotionally, and I feel like I've gotten so much better at mindfulness as well.

Yoga changed my life. It showed me that ā€œhomeā€ isnā€™t anything outside, itā€™s inside. I choose where I live.
  • Hi, Iā€™ve been doing yoga with Adriene for years and have enjoyed every single minute. Adriene does challenging videos. Breath 30 days the last day is the most awesome workout ever. Itā€™s in silence and in sequence. You donā€™t realize until you are doing it that she had prepared you for that moment. Also doing it online live with 50k people worldwide was outstanding. I hope you keep it up, Iā€™m on Spark for 30 days and I will continue to roll with her until infinity ā¤ļøšŸ„°šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘ŒšŸ¼
