  • Majoras Mask is not just dark, its also incredibly sad. The only Reason why Link goes on this Journey is to look for Navi, and while she mightve been pretty annoying for us Players, she was the only Friend Link had left in the end of OoT. Poor Boy had no childhood, no Friends, no Home and no real Family. Its just heartbreaking 😭

Twilight Princess has a very dark ambiance, but the themes are fairly light Majora's Mask's ambiance is closer to eerie than dark, but it's themes are what makes it truly dark

Tatl was a MASSIVE upgrade to Navi. She was less annoying and seemed more useful...I appreciated her sass when you ASKED for help on something you should already know...where as Navi would just randomly explain something you know you already know.
  • Did you know that the moon is crying in some moments? Well, it is implied that the Moon is IN PAIN and doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but it has no choice, and no free will.

Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess gave me nightmares and they're my favorite games of the series

The Deku Butler's story is so messed up, especially how it confirms at the END of the game of all places, that his son died and his death was how Link got the Deku Mask. Ugh, such a beautifully done game. EDIT: and can we take a moment to just acknowledge that Skull Kid straight up MURDERED the Deku Butler's son just so he could turn Link into a Deku Scrub? The other transformations happened organically, like they died from other means... but Majora just blatantly killed Deku Butler's son and dragged him into Link. Wow

The scary thing about majora's mask is that the game encourages you to use your time wisely and help as many people as you can before it's too late but the thing is once you take too long on a quest the music plays faster and faster until you start to hear the bells then the game is like did you help/save everyone?, collected enough moons?, found all dungeons? No? Well too bad because if you don't do any of these everyone you know and love will die and it will be your fault and you can feel the pressure telling you to hurry up with whatever quest you're on or else you'll regret letting everyone die instead of giving you a game over and try again and I love it

The little girl in Ikana, Pamela, looked exactly like me when I was little. More specifically, me when this game came out. It took me months to get to Ikana in general because I was just a little kid with barely any gaming skill (Great Bay was the bane of my existence), but once I did and saw her, her and her father’s story hit harder for me. I had a very close relationship with my dad, who wasn’t home much due to work, so when I got to that part, I just started crying along with them. It just hit so close to home for me. This game is seriously emotionally powerful and I’m certain that everyone has ‘that one part’ that tugs at their heart because it’s relatable for them in some way
  • It's hard to explain how I felt playing this game as a kid when it came out. I've never experienced another game like it.

The fact that Miyamoto apologized for this game happening is a disappointment. I wish he could see the great game he made

I think Twilight Princess is much darker than people give it credit for, particularly on your first playthrough when you don't know what's going to happen next. However, Majora's Mask is definitely the darkest of the Zelda series.
  • I think majora’s mask goes on to explain a hero‘s trial isn’t always perfect and a hero. Can’t save everyone.

this game was one of my earliest experiences with "creepy", unlike most 8 year olds this game really captivated me. I have fond memories of sitting and watching my older brother play, I'd get on after and do my best, but I'd never get very far and would often resort to riding epona around aimlessly. I played the game for real a few years ago on 3ds and it was so great to experience it that many years later. Really great vid!

Mikau is one of the more sad deaths for me and the one that gets me down when you really think about it, if you read lulus diary you found out about her eggs and talking to Evan about taking them to the lab to check on them and all that and how they got stolen Lulu also mentions how she didn't mention it to Mikau to not worry him but when her eggs are stolen she balls her eyes out and tells him the story, her reaction to what he says afterwards leaves her speechless and worried as to what he'll do next. That led to his death trying to get the eggs back and even in his last moments he sings you a song his last cry for help and even in spirit believing in you to get her eggs back. The only thing he cared about in his last moments were getting the eggs back and even in the cutscene when getting the mask his happy moments were with lulu and the band

i literally hope and pray that botw 2 is gonna be just as dark as this

I love the idea of young link after ocarina of time wondering the world in search of his friend Navi in a noticeably depressed looking state, link in general seems to have added character in majora with how he shrugs at the camera when tatl tells him game controls, how he reacts when he first turns into a deku shrub and then back to a human and how he lowers his head when the happy mask sales man ask for majora

Just recently finished this and idk how we marketed this to kids… I’m an adult and even I had a hard time coping with the sadness and darkness in this game

I literally just got Majoras Mask after wanting and watching/listening to some content for awhile. It is easily one of my favorite Zelda games ever, I didn’t even complete the whole game yet. This game really makes you figure things out on your own without any help, it lets your mind run wild. I love it so much. I love how it is a dark game as well, it shows how the hero of time has not had a easy life. The hero of time has been through hell, time and time again. The games with the hero of time are easily the best. Loved this video man, you earned a new sub
