Hey Bill, your mic level is a bit on the low side, just saying. See you again next video.... Like your reactions a lot, subbed a long time ago.
  • @rgbenge7580
Yes jazz, reggae, metal, rock they incorporate them all. Enjoy the ride!
  • @RonNL70
Reactions to Pisces... never gets old 🤣🤣🤣 Great reaction Bill 🤘

Really wonderful reaction! It is telling and very uncommon that you noticed the band immediately. Understandably, Tatiana steals the show but the thing that makes Jinjer so special is their balance. While each of them are world class at what they do, there is no ego, and no over performing. They work as a whole to create a complete song. This video is actually the showcase for the drummer Vlad as he had just joined and is a classically trained pianist. Jinjer considers themselves progressive metalcore and groove metal and the lounge melodies and grooves are a huge part of their music. I would recommend you look at "Perennial" live at Wacken, "I Speak Astronomy", "Vortex", and "Home Back", a song with deep personal meaning as it addresses the war in their home country of Ukraine. Can't wait to see more from you!

They are from Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where the fighting started in 2014. Her name is Tatiana, nobody expects that, lol. She is mostly self taught, with influences including Otep and Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) for the harsh, and Gwen Stefani. Some post production here with layers, but that is all her. Glad you mentioned the musicianship, this live session is a redo of an older song in order to showcase Vlad on drums, who had joined not long before this. He is classically trained on piano, and self taught on drums. He , Roman (guitar) and Eugene (bass) are all awesome. The guys write the music , and Tati writes most of the lyrics. None of the original members remain. Tati and Roman joined a year after they were first formed. According to their website, they were formed in 2009, but consider 2010 as their year of formation, (wiki says '08 and '09). Considered metalcore, they will switch styles within songs often. Jazz, as you see here , and reggae also. When the current fighting started , the guys were stuck in Kiev, but were eventually allowed to leave, to tour and be ambassadors for the Ukraine. The song is about the astrological sign, so the key word here is 'duality'. Tati and Eugene are Pisces, she wrote most of the lyrics with Eugene helping to finish them. The usual next step is to see her do it live, with either Perennial live at Wacken 2019, or Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev. Other suggestions: Teacher Teacher, Vortex, vocal one take video for Judgement (And Punishment). And Homeback, which is about the fighting in their homeland in 2014.

You have just witnessed a band that will be forever acknowledged as one of the best in metal. Tatiana is one of the best vocalists and lyricists I've ever experienced, but aside from her the rest of the band are major talents in their own rights. Eugene showing us just how cool a forward placed 5 string bass can be, Roman holding it all down with some solid (but not super flashy) guitar work and Vlad beating those drums like they owe him money. The amazing thing, Vlad is the only one with a formal music education and that is as a pianist. LOVE these guys!
  • The real deal. Impeccable musicians. Perennial live at Wacken and Judgment & Punishment one take vocal are musts! Vortex, Call Me A Symbol, Wallflower, Teacher Teacher, Disclosure, Sit Stay Rollover, Mediator.

Jinjer is my personal best find for ages when it comes to music. I saw this video in 2017 and since that no other band comes even close. The vocalist is Tatiana and she has done several collaborations with other bands - including a sound track album for the game Metal Hellsinger. Your intro music (guitar) sounds very much like a song which could be straight from that album. The song featuring Tatiana is called Burial at Night. Edit: I'm an old old metalhead as well.

I enjoyed your reaction & subscribed. I like to learn from the reactions people with different musical backgrounds have to Jinjer's music because I always learn something new. I've been a metalhead for about 40 years, & Jinjer is the 1st growling band I've enjoyed. They single-handedly re-invigorated my interest in music after about 20 years of near-dormancy. They are all incredibly talented. They are a progressive groove-metal band from Ukraine. The lineup has been constant since 2016, when Vlad replaced Dmytro Kim on the drums. This video was meant to showcase Vlad, who had recently joined...but vocalist Tatiana kind of steals the show for most people. Dmytro Kim left because he didn't want to sustain Jinjer's demanding touring schedule. Eugene replaced founding bassist Oleksiy Svynar in 2011 for reasons I do not know. Roman replaced founding lead guitarist Rostyslav Lobachov in 2010 for reasons I do not know. Founding rhythm guitarist Dmytro Oksen departed in 2015 to pursue an acting career, leaving Roman as the sole guitarist. Tatiana replaced founding vocalist Maksym Fatullaiev in 2010 for reasons I do not know. She is an amazingly versatile, talented & skilled vocalist, a talented lyricist & melody writer & a kick-ass front woman. Tatiana, Roman & Eugene have been the constant core of the band since 2011, & really forged Jinjer's identity together. Vlad, who is a classically trained pianist & very talented multi-instrumentalist, contributes a lot of musical composition as well as his very nuanced, jazz-influenced drumming style, & has quickly become an integral part of the band, contributing to their progressive tendencies. These 4 are magical together. Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 is usually the recommended 2nd reaction, but that's more for people skeptical about whether Tati's harsh vocals are real or people who are newbies to metal with harsh vocals. You evidently fit neither category, so you could go any number of different directions. You'll get tons of recommendations, & they'll all be great songs.

You're gonna love going down the Jinjer rabbithole! This band is amazing between the band and Tatiana, they're the whole package. I can't wait for the next one!
  • @cyberia55
“There will definitely be more Jinjer.” Truer words were never spoken! They’ve been in & out of the studio for months, I cannot wait for the first new track to hit the net.

I'm a musician myself and I'm around your age and I'm not actually a metal dude, but.................. when I saw and heard this band for the first time over 6 years ago, I immediately realized that something incredible was happening for me!!!!!!!! I have been a music lover for 50 years and a musician for over 40 years, rock, funk, R&B, acid jazz..., but as already mentioned, Jinjer opened the way to metal for me, although Jinjer is much more than that for me "just" a metal band, Jinjer is simply great, and you'll notice that the longer you spend time with this band. Besides, they are all humble and lovely people. What's sad is that they're from Ukraine and you know what's been happening there for almost 2 years, which is why they had to flee to another area in Ukraine in 2014.................. I've been following Jinjer reactions on YouTube for over 6 years, and you're one of the best for me, cause I notice how you get involved with music + also take your time....... lovely greetings from germany

Welcome to Jinjer. Tatiana is a vocal goddess and the band is musically amazing. They shine in their live performances. I recommend "Perennial" live at Wacken for a follow up reaction. Great reaction (Subbed).
  • @Ati-MarcusS
More Tati please the whole band is Amazing at what they do . They are a ukrainian Band formed in 2008 (9)
  • @kevinwagner542
Great reaction! Jinjer is amazing! Eugene, Roman and Vlad are all so good, they can be super brutal but never lose the groove. And Tatiana (Tati) is absolutely one of the best vocalists in metal. I saw them in Atlanta December '22, what a great show! She does this flawlessly all night. Check out "Perennial" live at Wacken to see them do this live.
  • @musicfan9291

Hey bud great to meet ya, Also a metalhead going way back to when I was a kid/teen in the 80's and yeah I've known Jinjer since to 2015 and over the last 8 years have become my favourite band ever. The whole band is next level but Tatiana is obviously in a category all her own, awesome to see that you discovered them and metal 4 life! 🤘
  • @benbarrett1324
Welcome to Jinjer. I guarantee this will be a very deep rabbit hole to go down. They do various styles intertwined with the metal. One song may have a little rap and another a little reggae. I also guarantee you will not be disappointed in any of their music. Great reaction and enjoy the journey.
  • @Plague073
I'm always amazed seeing Tatiana growl so effortlessly, no popping veins, no stressing at all. Awesome range
