The clapping cross talk is pretty funny

this channel is gold, no unnecessary bs like other drums review channel. When I will eventually buy a drumset I'll use one of the affiliate links, definitely.
  • @ITAngel
Always great to learn about drums from this channel.
  • @mnto5879
really into this kit can’t wait to get one for myself!
  • @joechan3130
Thanks so much for all you have done with your channel. As a newbie to edrums, you have possibly saved me almost a thousand by giving me direction when I was about to stray and purchase some gears that were actually not suitable for my setting. Much love from Hong Kong
  • You're the BEST and I'm so getting this and the expansion pack! Great second follow up!!
  • About 7-8 months ago I found your channel as I was researching E-Drums to see how the tech has come along & if they are close to acoustic kits yet. I researched for months & ultimately decided upon the Roland TD27KV2. It wasn't the most realistic sounding kit, but the digital Hi-Hat, Ride & Snare sold me on it. As Hi-Hats have always been difficult to simulate & the TD27KV2 seemed to have the best. But when I got the kit & set it up, I just couldn't get over how bad it sounded. It just didn't sound like an acoustic kit. Yes, I tweaked it quite a bit but still didn't like the sound. And I didn't want to have to pump it through a PC/Laptop & VST's for it to sound good. Not when spending $3500 for an E-Kit. Anyhow, I am now SO glad I returned that TD27KV2. This was exactly what I was looking for. Had I only waited a few more months I would have saved myself the hassle of setting up that TD27KV2 only to have to tear the whole thing down, repackage it all & send it back. By the way, I cannot recommend Sweetwater enough. The best customer service I've ever had. Oh, and one thing I learned is that the pads & cymbals being capable of dynamics like Ghost Notes to Rim Shots is FAR more important than having "Digital," "Positional Sensing" pads. So long as the drums can detect & differentiate between light Ghost Notes to hard Rim Shots, that is what matters most. So authentic acoustic sounds absolutely trumps those "Digital," "Positional Sensing" pads & cymbals of the TD27KV2. All the accuracy in the world doesn't help if the samples sound like dirt. This kit sounds incredible. This kit is revolutionary for E-Drums. Finally an E-Kit that gives us authentic VST quality samples as well as drum & cymbal choices from actual real drum & cymbal manufacturers. I hated the generic, lifeless sounds from the Roland TD27KV2. As well as an amazing, intuitive drum module with a 10.1 inch touch screen & a great looking, easy to use UI with every feature, setting & tweak imaginable. This is what I wanted all along, but it just wasn't here quite yet. Now, the sooner they add Blutooth audio so I can jam to music from my phone, the sooner I will be picking this up.

Thanks for the updated. Looking forward to a head to head comparison agaaint EFNote. I'm torn between this rig and the EFNote 5 or 7. Cheers!

Appreciate this! I almost pulled the trigger on the Surge. Went to my local store and got an open box Strike Pro SE for $2,050. Having a blast so far. Thanks for all the videos on helping me to decide on what kit to get!
  • @simondrew8641
Thanks for your brilliant video Justin! A lot of important information covered here. Careful consideration and research is needed to make a decision on this kit. Around $6K Australian is big money to outlay, your thoughts and experiences are truly appreciated. See you in the next chapter of everything Alesis!

The assignable outs should be achieved by hard panning, So, kick into Main (hard panned left) snare into main (hard panned right) hihat to 3&4 (hard panned left) ride to 3&4 (hard panned right) toms to 6&5 (hard panned left) and crashes to 5&6 (hard panned right) You;d need to monitor it from the FOH desk though as all the panning would be horrible to listen to in headphones from the module. And some ambience to wet it up a little as it would be forced mono. But it should give what Anthony was asking for.

Good stuff! Before adding a compressor, I'd try fiddling with the dynamics knob under kit editor - I found it strange that it's not under trigger settings, but I guess someone may want different dynamics for different kits.
  • @philippes1987
Hmmm good groove at the beginning of the video 🤟

Thanks for the update !!! Oddly enough, right before I watched yer video, I just found the 14D digital hi-hats on ebay for $650 so I'm SUPER PSYCHED to FINALLY try them !!! I was hoping you'd do a comparison, and there it was... :-) I don't think anything beats these hi-hats from what I've researched. They're coming from Japan so I'll be at my door waiting every day now !!! Hehehehehehe Late Christmas gift for myself, because Christmas was expensive this last year, and I just got a good chunk of Change come in. Thanks for the video Justin !!! Now all I need is the digital ride and I'm done !!! Have an awesome day ! :-)

also FYI, even though I was either THE first or one of the first, I'm back to an Adopted Cousin on Patreon! Sorry it took so long to get back to this status! I'm also wearing the shirt I got from you a few years ago in my Twitch drumming stream. I appreciate everything you've done for the eDrumming community over the years, AND the interactions we've had over the years as well. Blessings, Justin!
