------------

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I remember reading an internet comment once from someone saying they couldn't watch Taskmaster because they didn't like Alex Horne. But considering the amount of abuse and torture Alex goes through on this show (i.e. coffee waterboarding) you think this would be the perfect show for people that don't like Alex.

Phil's thoughts: "I'll put myself up as a prize and then someone will take me home and I never have to pay rent again."

Man alex has nerves of steel. Rhod practically waterboarded him and only got +11.
  • @thisisberman
"It didn't look like blind panic, it looked like fairly structured torture." This show is the absolute best.

watching Alex and James play tag is the wholesome content we need in 2020

I love how Rhod uses every possible chance he has to attack Greg

I wonder if Greg's years teaching Deaf and hard of hearing students made him better at lip reading. Because that was truly impressive.

“People say my ADHD makes me shit at problem solving. No, sir!” Says the person who also thought tying Alex to a chair and force-feeding him coffee was a great way to excite him. Rhod is so unpredictable and weird; I love him :D.

I was not expecting greg to actually hold james upside down

None of those noises were as good of a noise as Hugh Dennis swinging a belt.

Alex saying “I wanted to contribute to the format of the show” when he’s the master designer of the whole thing is too adorable.
  • @Adrianovaz2007
Jessica's smile instantly dissolving upon being told she brought an item from the wrong decade was perfect, I love those doofuses.

"Was it because he had a game show and punished his contestants?" Along with "It's frustrating isn't it Greg, when you're asked to complete tasks under pressure?" Are the two best comebacks in taskmaster history and both came from the same person!
  • @carjaroo
James could have said 'Hello Alex' as his best noise. I think Alex was trying to prompt him but he missed the clue
  • I honestly think that James's first intention was to throw Alex in front of a car but he backed off at the last minute
  • James grabbing Phil's hand and running into the darkness was both cute and terrifying lol
  • @olscratch74
    "WOOOO-ooo-WOOOOOO!!!! strum strum strum strum WOOOOooooooooo! He-eugh! He-eugh! He-eeeuuuggghhh!! ding "
  • This show is made funnier when you realize Alex Horne is the one writing it all. Dude is topping from the bottom with startling efficiency.

I feel that Rhod missed a trick: he should have brought in a copy of The Spice Girls' debut album, "Spice". We have it on good authority that Acaster tried to drown himself when he found out that he wasn't going to get a copy as a Christmas present.
  • One of my favourite things in this season (or in any season for all that matters) is Rhod just sitting down with his head on a table in the beginning of every task and just thinking in complete silence for 5 minutes All the other contestants dive straight in the task whereas he just vibes for a second and then does some mad fucking shit
