"Don't talk to me about sophistication, I've been to Leeds." That one cracked me up.

As a southerner who lived in Yorkshire for the best part of a decade, I can safely say this is only a slight exaggeration of reality

The actors are on the edge of losing it on several occasions, great stuff. "You'll never play for Yorkshire" Pure Boycott, 25 years ahead of its time.
  • 0.28: "Ey up son - You'll never play for Yorkshire" - how very true with current events at Yorkshire CC. Amazing how Harry Enfield got this spot on 29 years ago.

"you'll never play for Yorkshire" How relevant.

Any Yorkshireman offended by this isn’t a proper Yorkshireman! Bring back these days
  • Made me laugh . Reminds me of my late Dad , when I asked him why he married my Mam. He replied "She mekks great Yorkshire puddings and was 6 months pregnant!"

As a Yorkshireman. I find this hilarious. "Two words to say for that, shite! What's the other one, shite! haha!!

Sophisticated Yorkshireman. Takes plates out of sink before pissing in it.
  • @nickagnew965
this type of comedy is even funnier now in 2023 than it was in the 90s.

I'm a sophisticated Yorkshire man from Leeds and i find this totally hilarious. I did 20 years ago when it was on tv and i still do now. Slightly disappointed with any fellow Yorkshire man who can't laugh at this stereotype.

“I’m sorry, she’s my girlfriend” “That’s alright lad we all make mistakes”

Brilliant un PC classic, I miss the 80's & 90's, bring back please!
  • I'm a proud Yorkshireman and wasn't sure about this at first but it was hilarious. "Bank with us and get a free packet of lard"

They don’t make them like they used to. Harry Enfields TV programme used to have me in stitches. Kathy Burke and Paul whitehouse , comedy geniuses

Documented proof that this world used to have a sense of humor.

I saw Harry live 20 years ago and I still laugh when I think about it , he’s one of the funniest ever
