I painted my living and dining room this color back in 2014 and still love it.

Please yes to SW White Sesame….such a calm light taupe. I highly recommend it.
  • We moved and rented out our home for two years while we were away. The tenants asked to paint our interior and they chose Kilim Beige. I had never heard of it but LOVED it from the moment I saw it. They used it in a room filled with windows and it is bright and cheery by day and calm and relaxing by night. I haven't changed it in the 7 years since we moved back, and I am generally changing paint colors every couple years....just for fun. My sister's home is filled with SW Sand Beach and thought I loved that even more, BUT when I compared them on the fan decks, the two seem almost identical, even down to the LRV. I was ready to cave to Sand Beach until I discovered that. I also like how the shadows change Kilim Beige, but I have never disliked it. I do not see any peach undertones that others have mentioned.

It's always interesting how people's tastes vary so much. I just watched your video about taupes and I loved all the colors. In this one, the only color I find palatable at all is Greek Villa. Love your videos so much, I am currently remodeling and they are so helpful. I was happy to subscribe!
  • This is my bathroom and kitchen wall color , down here in the Deep South it stays true , doesn’t lean peach or yellow .

After years of having my house painted in strong colors 7 years ago I had my house painted Kilim beige and I still love it. Boring maybe for some, but I love it!
  • KILIM BEIGE is too dark as a primary color for my home. Based on the reflection of my natural maple stained floors, a cinnamon colored sofa and some art with a Spanish feel I wanted to keep, I used DIVINE WHITE on primary walls. I used KB only in the “recesses” that can be seen in the LR, giving an optical illusion that my walls are a rich KB. That is, a hall transitioning to a family room, one accent wall in a dining room, a parallel wall behind some stairs that is painted up to the second floor, and some recesses that can be seen upstairs. Comments; calm, peaceful, relaxed, rich… most of them not knowing the wall colors have a LOT to do with it!

Tradewind looked so interesting for a bathroom, and when I looked it up on SW, I found Interesting Aqua 2 shades down. I would love to see a video on Blue bathroom colors to go with white and black tile/fixtures.
  • Would love to hear your suggestions for duplicate, or at least similar, colors in other brands, especially Behr.
  • James, will you please talk about SW Sea Salt? I was thinking to use it throughout. But now, is it outdated, with the taupes in now!? Thanks!!

I did use Kilim Beige for the public areas of my new home and couldn't be happier. This newly constructed home had all Alpaca Gray walls which were so dreary and boring for me. A bedroom I use as an office is also Kilim Beige while a guest bedroom and laundry room is Aviary Blue. I am still looking at gray walls in my primary bedroom and bath and am still having difficulty choosing a color for this north facing room with little light. All trim and doors were painted Alabaster which works great with Kilim Beige.

I agree it's a better secondary color than default color. The sample was still too beige for my taste
