The 2nd ever episode of Abusing the Glitch.
In this one, we'll be doing a glitch that lets you play as Hunter outside of his 2 designated areas. This glitch is made possible because of the loading issues with the disc I'm using. In involves, running past the trigger for swapping back to Spyro because the game hasn't loaded him in yet and using a strange method of teleporting to the different homeworlds, too.

I discovered this glitch in a video I made last year to celebrate Hunter's 47th birthday. You can watch that here:

Here's the first Abusing the Glitch video on Battle for Bikini Bottom. It's not one of my better videos, but you can watch it if you're interested:

A couple things I want to add: There are ways of performing this glitch without relying on a bad disc. You can clip out of bounds and just do some precise platforming to jump right past Spyro. If you're on PS2, you can also simply take out the disc before going to Spyro and then put it back in when you're past him. And lastly there's a fairly simple glitch where you can store a teleport menu, which you can carry to Hunter and simply teleport him out of there. 8:34 The wall type used for Spyro's Wall Kick, Hunter's Wall Climb and Blink's Wall Cling move is the same, which is why Hunter can climb on that bit of wall. I wish I could explain why only the water in Dragonfly Falls makes you drown, while you can walk on the rest. I'm thinking the devs added extra behavior to the water in that level specifically. You can actually get pretty much everywhere in Sunken Ruins, it requires a lot of that ledge grab clip you were using. 15:51 The transition is pulled off by teleporting the player and the elevator to a "link map" far away while the levels load and unload in the background. It has very similar scenery to the actual levels, and the camera snapping to that top-down angle helps mask the teleport. If you get the swim-in-air glitch and load the elevator, you can swim out of bounds and explore the link map, which is pretty cool. You'll be happy (or very frustrated) to hear that you can actually defeat those fire imp enemies with Hunter's fire arrows. I don't blame you for not trying, it makes no sense. You can actually make it all the way to the final level as Hunter! I made a video showing it off. You can clip below the ball gadget station and into the load trigger directly, then you can navigate the mine kart tracks on-foot. To get all the way to Red's Laboratory you'll need to pull off a lot of shenanigans, but it IS possible (and so is going back to Gloomy Glacier again). Hope you found this informative. Great video, very entertaining!

Hunter could have done everything Spyro did if he wasn't so scatterbrained and cowardly. After all, we've known since Ripto's Rage that he can jump across gaps that Spyro needs his wings to clear. Btw, if anyone is wondering, A Hero's Tail isn't usually glitchy. NPCarlsson said in his first Hunter video that his disc is aging and doesn't run as well as it used to.

I never thought it was possible to "blue-screen of death" a PS2 game, yet you found a way! 😂
  • @speedbuiz
Literally my favorite game of my childhood and you telling me i never found this glitch for 15 years
  • @PsychadelicoDuck
Hunter's true weaknesses: not knowing the morph ball, and not having ice arrows.
  • @sillymooser
can’t believe you made another episode. as a kid i watched ur bfbb one like 100 times lol
  • @CyluxHalfheart
This is really fascinating, i didnt even know you could get out as hunter
  • @joshm7335
It blows me away at all the cool levels in this game. Back when I was a kid, I couldn't get past the snowy level. Drat.
  • List of powers Hunter has apparently : -Close combat -Void Arrows -Long Jump -Wall climbing -Water walking -Underwater breathing -Reality shattering (Woah!) -Wall passing -Confusion (Somehow mistaken for a purple dragon) -Extreme endurance -Air climbing -Infinite stationary falling -Spontaneous combustion bone arrow -Fire resistance -Heat resistance -Lava walking

Looks like we found Mario's Tunnels of a Doom.

I loved this! I remember having so much fun with this glitch way back when I managed to get Hunter out of Gloomy Glacier due to my disc being scratched, and then I realized I could just do it consistently by opening the disc tray on my PS2. I even uploaded a video of it after I managed to teleport Hunter to the other realms. It's probably the most surprising thing I've ever found in a game on my own.
  • @sharpeningtheaxe
Now I’d like to see some mods that let you play as Hunter in entirely different games. I want to see Hunter in Skyrim.
  • @MsDaBoss7
Oh my goodness, I never knew this glitch was a thing, so this was quite the treat! 😂
  • @IShy2
Hunter can't even touch water Dragonfly Falls but becomes Jesus in Coastal Remains Why that's not quite the exact same with Blink :( Edit: Also, this video should be called "Spyro A Hero's Tail but without Spyro"
