Every bike has its own starting “combination”. You’ll figure it out. Cool scooter.

I like how you didn't edit out how many kicks it took to start the bike. Keeping it real.

As a mechanic, we bought our little farm on a road with a hill, so that I can do the first test ride uphill, and then coast home if somthing goes wrong, anything to avoid the walk of shame (pushing your project home) hah.

    love those pull back buckhorns.

Try this: Keep the ignition OFF. Open the enricher fully. Keeping the ignition off, kick through 3 compression strokes. Close enricher. Get the kicker up on the compression stroke. Turn on the ignition and kick. If it does not start turn the ignition OFF and get it back up on the compression stroke. Turn the ignition on and kick. Continuously kicking with the ignition on can foul your spark plugs.

Hold your foot down at the bottom of the kick for a second or two and it shouldn’t give that kick back pressure.

Had a ‘75 Sportster that I’d chopped. Stated first kick every time no one was around. If there was an audience, then 17 kicks.

Owning a kickstart only bike makes you appreciate the electric leg 😅
  • It's not a honda bring it up on compression stroke , probably need a prime kick with ignition off

How does the higher front end affect ride and steering? Are you less agile?

Im glad my shovelhead only took 3 priming kicks and it was a one kick bike after that lol
