South Carolina officer accused of murder & kidnapping from Chick-Fil-A parking lot

Published 2024-07-17
Bond for Anthony DeLustro, the former off-duty Summerville Police officer who shot and killed Michael O'Neal, is still up in the air.

The judge did not decide on the bond and will instead issue an order later in the week. There are indications that the order will come on Friday.

During the hearing, DeLustro's attorney said he was medically evaluated, arguing the results show he is not a flight risk and is no danger to the community. DeLustro's attorney painted a picture that being a cop, being there on ground zero during Sept. 11, losing a child and dealing with custody issues has weighed on him. His attorney claims those events played heavily into what happened on March 25, where DeLustro and O'Neil got into an altercation at a Chilf-fil-A parking lot in Summerville.
