This is the most slept on Starkid musical and I'm mad about it

i think this is the most straight i've ever seen a starkid musical been played in my entire life. basically no jokes or parody elements, just a straightforward retelling of a christmas carol with a really solid framing device. it's honestly really unexpected, and a nice change of pace for the studio

Dylan's "No one?" during Christmas Electricity is just so cute he sounds so genuinely shocked people aren't singing along

Okay but “No, Bob, you’re priceless.” Somehow hit a note (no pun intended) that no other Christmas Carol adaptation has hit. A moment that’s not just about supporting Tim, but letting Bob know that he’s worth more than Scrooge has treated him.

So impressive how ALL of the main story beats are condensed into 45 minutes without feeling rushed! I never thought anything would match Muppet Christmas Carol for me, but this is incredible

I've missed all these people so much. It feels like forever that all the older cast have been together and now with newer cast too. I love Meredith and Brian so much.

I JUST REALIZED that in Black Friday, Paul says, "Your brothers-in-law is a bit of a SCROOGE, isn't he?" And DYLAN SAUNDERS PLAYS both Emma's brothers-in-law Tim in Black Friday AND Ebeneazer Scrooge in VHS Christmas Carol!!!!!!!!!!! How did I just realized this?!?!?!

Crazy how this is the second show Jamie Burns does with Starkid where, unless she's singing in the ensemble, her main character's only lines consist of repeating the same sound multiple times

The part where scrooge asks the ghost of christmas future to say something and she just sings ooooh oooooh and then he goes “k that didn’t tell me much” KILLS me every time lmao

It was all amazing but Jamie Lynn is not getting enough credit for how amazing her precise movements were and the amazing vocals and voice she did.

About a week ago, I sent this video to my dad. He said that this is one of the most faithful adaptations, with and i quote "catchy songs that even a guy who doesn't like musicals can stand".

ok so... that opening number was actually INCREDIBLY well done? Like why do so many StarKid opening numbers go so hard?! That was an incredible introduction to the story and I LOVED the staging. This was so fun. Also this is my first time ever seeing Janaya perform and she was JAW DROPPING. Love her voice and emotion
