The hardness of the air bag is absolutely an OG protection feature. There's a spec pamphlet somewhere that shows there was a clear plate attached to both sides of the outsole that protected the new bigger bubble. I remember being surprised that I couldn't squeeze the bubble back then.
  • @equinox95
The younger consumers don't understand how legendary these were back in 91. The exposed air bubble on the sole was almost futuristic at the time.......classic but very hard to keep clean, especially the suede part.👍🏿
  • Y'all blew up mah spot. These shoes were completely under the radar until you put this video up. Sold out immediately.
  • @MrRich504
As an “OG” who was around and remembers these from 91’, YES the Air Unit is supposed to be exactly like that(No Pause needed😂)
  • @yeswords1
Brings back so many memory’s from my childhood. Love the old box and the shoe!
  • @engelmann82
…also the Air Force 180 Pump…I know those will never come back…but a man can dream…😢
  • @samaantree
The nostalgia is real man! 🥹🔥🔥🔥🖤

Desperately wanted these in the early 90s and there was no way my parents would cop back then. Badass release!
  • @posterbag
I had these as a kid. Never thought they would get a reissue. Pretty sure got them on clearance, and that air unit did not feel like air, hard af

I owned a pair of 1992 OG Olympic Air Force 180s back in the day and remember after 2 years of wearing them I took them apart and the clear part of the 180 rear air unit was part of the outsole and the air bag unit was separate inside it. They were super durable back then and biggest fear was not puncturing the rear air unit but the front air bag unit if you accidently stepped on a sharp rock or object.
  • @Esquero15
Been waiting for your review on these!!! Only channel I trust to give me an honest opinion!
  • I had these for my school shoes in 9th grade. They are the most comfortable shoe I have EVER owned to this day. My mom has a photo of me wearing these back in the day
  • Man, I remember these releasing back in the days. The colors and the air block was something so new, as a kid it really made you jump for joy.
  • @LukeJohnson33
Immediate flashback to my 11-year old self just cherishing these kicks. I loved them like no other shoe I had owned before. And yes, I'm old.
  • @GisbertoGuzzo
Chris is the best! I love that he always gives a rundown on the history/story behind the sneaker. Beyond that, his breakdown of the materials, sizing, etc. is always thorough and super helpful for me in deciding whether I want to spend money on a shoe. Thank you and keep up the great work!
  • @carltubice3964
Can’t wait to get this! Been waiting for so long for a retro of this shoe. Brings back so much memories!
  • @SneakPick2345
My uncle gave me his pair back in the day. Cherished them so much. Not an air max guy but this model really gets me.
  • @newguyoz
Thank you for testing these out Chris! you are THE MAN> Lots of design features in these that also feature in the Huarache. Love the history lesson and the marketing throw back. That's what makes this channel THE BEST.
  • Thanks guys we need more air max reviews, been waiting on this one
