I really hope you are right and the industry is getting better soon but my fear (after seeing the shitshow trailers of SH2 remake) is that it gets even worse and when even the last "gamer" is fed up whith that shit they maybe chance things to the better.

Quality does not ascend anymore, because people rely on the established systems and they play safe. So every non-creative person can just become a creator, just because they follow the "official path" to positions like development of AAA games. I think some people had a vision and learned, that they have to out-do themselves and polish their work, until the result is what you love and what you missed. All the others copy 9/10 and change 1/10 just to give it a new name.

i dont think palworld has big numbers now it feels like 60k on steam most days while csgo still has almost a 1mill + more lol also you forgot about baldur gate 3 from 2023
