Pronounces an obscure railway in wales: absolutely perfect Attempts to say Railway: takes four tries :D jokes aside hope your game goes well!
  • @WhirligigGirl
"whatever these are meant to be" are the safety valves, they let off excess steam when the pressure gets too high and prevent a boiler explosion. (though boiler explosions are still possible through a crown sheet failure if the water level gets too low)
  • @trainlover658
A little fun fact; When the falcon engines were initially built, none of them had the tracking wheel at the back, so the engines were 0-4-0's to begin with and were later modified to have the tracking wheels, so technically you could have the model in that wheel set up and no one would really complain.
  • @calebc.2290
You should have an option for a trailing wheel on that sir Hayden model. Last thing I want to ride is a ‘Bucking Bronco,’ get thrown out of the cab and into a bush with only my legs sticking out. Although that would be a funny cut scene.

If additional engine models are to be added, I would cast my vote for ffestiniog's Prince. Having a tender engine would add a nice bit of variety, and Duke was always such an interesting character in Thomas & Friends. Just my two cents! It was also really cool to see this little glimpse into your design process!!!! And even if the Falcon is the only engine available, I'm positive I will ADORE this game when it comes out
  • I think it'll be funny if you could unlock a Sir Handel face somewhere and be able to place it on your Sir Haydn, if you so choose. Or maybe the railway could hold their own little "Day Out With Thomas" or "Awdry Extravaganza" Event.
  • 4:22 Sir Handel worked before Skarloey Railway on Mid Sodor Railway. His name on MSR was Falcon.

Pro tip: the lamps are interchangeable irl and they actually have meaning I recommend looking at British railway headcodes to understand what I mean
  • @Troublesome
Choo Choo! Also there's absolutely no shame in using references, just keep in mind that all major artworks: Mona Lisa, Starry Night, etc. all used real life references. It's looking great!
  • @Eli-of5hl
The fact he called pecketts "pugs", pugs are an entirely different class
  • Everyone: “chats about the epicness of steam locos” Me: “OMG EMERALD NIGHT IN THE BACKGROUND”
  • @traingameiacs
2:12 those are handle bars, the side rods go on the wheels to send power to them from the cylinders
  • i love how Edward Thomas and sir Haydn's story of being sold to the talyllyn are straight up retold in the railway series and show, it's perfect to me
  • @SteamLance
If you want to model a Hunslet, then definitely visit the Bala Lake Railway. I'm totally not a volunteer fireman there...
  • @PowerTrain611
Thank you for not sticking with your original model. Too many developers do just that and say "yes, this is train" without doing any further research. The fact that you took the time to model an engine that has a real-life counterpart despite having very little prior knowledge about trains shows your commitment to this project. Far too many others would have taken the easy way out.
  • @binglebeee
Couple of quick things, those bits on the front of the dome are safety valves I believe 😁 steam collects in the dome before its released i to the cylinders to drive the engine, and those valves are to release steam if the pressure gets too high 😁 there's also a small business called Iconicrail that's doing a ready to run model of Corris no3 in 7mm scale due to release in the next couple of months! Might be good modelling reference for the firebox!
  • Honestly the first locomotive model is what you would usually expect from an indie game like this. I'm glad you decided to go for something a little more actually exists :D
  • Looks very cute! A great update and I cant wait to see more from this project.
