If you store icons painted on wood in a cellar for a long time, they will lose a bit of color.
If you then use it as a wooden board and base for working - OUCH!
But that's way too good as firewood, isn't it? Some people are “things-seekers” & like to heal or repair... 🌻
Ok, the Madonna has been "modernized" a bit, but I'm not a professional restorer or so & I think it's pretty nice again.
She even got her original Ethiopian neck cross back - look, isn't it pretty?
