Grüner See - Drone View - July 2024

The lake gradually fills with very clear water as the snow melts on the surrounding mountain slopes. The water is therefore cold (5 to 6 °C) and the water level depends greatly on the season. The water level reaches its highest in early summer, when the lake is about 10 meters deep at its deepest point. On the southeastern shore there is an overflow made of boulders. On the southwestern shore you can see the water flowing into the mountain. In autumn it dries out almost completely.
