  • For international listeners; Sivert Høyem is a Norwegian blues vocalist, he's known for his deep voice and has such acclaimed songs as Prisoner of the Road and Endless Love.

This is a masterpiece ! regardless which genre they ever "belonged" to. A good song is more important than any genre .
  • @HobbitFuckers
For some reason, and I don't know why, this is heavier for me than growling and screaming. Then again, Sivert's voice is powerful!

Into the night My long suffering friend We'll be reborn again Right here where everything ends Face to the sky A trail of smoke in the air Pass into emptiness New life's awaiting you there Slave to some wretched old Imagination of yesteryear Now all that grows in the skulls Of the living are flowers of fear The morning red A sun-god calling you back Down through a thousand years White embers whistle and crack Await the dawn with her kiss of redemption, My firebird! You were the queen of the souls of all men Before there was the w-o-r-d The morning new, the morning red, The fiery promise Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples And when the fire's work is done Our time to be reborn By pagan streams A wind whips the leaves from the trees And it is revealed to us That we are dreams within dreams Born from some wretched Old imagination of yesteryear Now all that grows in the skulls of the living Are flowers of fear The morning new, the morning red, The fiery promise Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples And when the fire's work is done Our time to be reborn The morning new, the morning red, The fiery promise Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples And when the fire's work is done The phoenix now reborn

Sivert should join Satyricon or make another project with them (dont care) and continue producing music like this, the world needs it

I remembered my first time hearing this. It was absolutely unpredictable. Not your typical clean vocals and screaming. Just that its Sivert's singing alone made it a masterpiece And the lyrics are amazing. Every time I play this song I have to put it on repeat for a while before I can move on to another song. The guitars, the drums, the choir in the background, everything is perfect about it... well, to me at least :)
  • @PsychowarBM
Am I the only one who wants whole Satyricon album with Sivert on vocals ??
  • I'm gonna play this song to my non-metal friends to explain to them what black metal sounds like to black metal fans
  • @Umarth1
Maybe I’m a drama queen but this is the greatest song I have ever heard. Everything is so perfect about it. I’ve listened to it like 7 times today and it hasnt gotten old yet.
  • The cold and haunted sound of black metal music with the deep and warm Sivert's voice actually gives the feeling of a dying majestic creature, preparing to burn out into becoming the cradle of a new herself. This song is a masterpiece
  • @yksimiljoonasta
I honestly wish that there would be more Satyricon with Sivert Høyem
  • @TheSunMoon
The drumming is very delicious. Double pedal and hi-hat combo!
  • When my mother dies i was listening to it almost everyday. Today came here for the 1st time again and goosebumps almost killed me. Its a beautiful and very underrated piece of dark art - a strong MODERN BLACK METAL full with emotions. People moaning over how "bad" this album is - can lick my feet toes . There is more colours of dark as black ! Love forever !
  • @datamatr1x
I have been searching for more music that sounds like this for 7 years now. This is so unique and good. I hate that there is nothing like it.
  • @RockaRollaSteel
So this is what Satyricon is up to these days. Beautiful song.
  • @lalopena5755
Satyricon has my respect, take in mind that your musical taste is as big as your narrow mind.
  • @markdesolate
the contrast between 4 headbangers and one bald guy is AWESOME!! @1:46
  • The voice, the lyrics, the drums, the chorus? I can't name it. Goosebumps all the way. Thank you for this masterpiece.
  • @666metal333
Frost has been one of my biggest influences as a drummer and musician. His dedication and passion inspired me, and continues till this day. Hoyem's haunting vocals are just perfect against the icy guitars.
