New video series where Magnus goes around the world crushing random local comps
  • "Im competing against a 7 year old" is exactly how I feel when I go to my local gym climbing v5s and a random toddler comes out of nowhere and flashes my problem
  • Usually, I like a lot Magnus Midtbø's videos. But this one was the best I've ever seen. The competition was a great storytelling framework. The editing is perfect. Nicely done.

Magnus climbing to dark synthwave music is something i could watch for hours
  • @fantbar
Btw, saying that he feels stronger in the second round might be (just might be) an indication of how much stronger he would be if he actually warmed up.

Out of all the climbing videos i've seen on this channel Magnus this is my favourite, it had everything. Humility, Defeat, Humour, Honesty, Triumph and most importantly you never gave up. This video is a masterpiece and I will come back to watch it for years.

give your production crew a raise. this was well filmed and edited!
  • don’t let magnus fool you guys. this guy qualified for 50 world cups and and made the semi finals in 40 of them, as well as being one of the few climbers to climb a 9b. he’s legit and he downplays himself a lot. the man who got me into climbing almost snuck past pretending to be an old climber who was decent in his hay day while he was actually a top 50 climber for a portion of his career

When Tomoa Narasaki tells you you can still compete you better listen I guess... Stoked for this video!

One of your best vids so far Magnus. The mood, the music, your contagious enthusiasm and energy and no stupid fake suspense and drama. I like that you are not compromising your authenticity despite the success of your channel and the opportunity to make more and more money. I think people can feel this. You're not fake, please keep it that way. Wish you the best with your channel.

Magnus!! So extremely well done! The 25 looked like a challenge for me! 😅 When you flashed that one problem at the end I was in literal shock. I couldn’t believe after an hour and a half of bouldering, you pulled that off so cleanly. Well done and I hope to see one of these again, even if it’s just for fun!! Those native folks were insaaaaane! The girl that completed the 82 or 88 whichever it was, WOWOWOW! So impressive and fun to watch. Keep up the amazing work!!
  • @MoHa-jf3te
The fact he got third place with only a 2 point difference even tho there were atleast 2 athletes from the Japanese national team competing is actually insane. We definitely want to see magnus compete more because this video was amazing 😍
  • Magnus, you look your best when you're having fun! It's been a while since I've had so much fun watching a rock climbing video. Pls do / organise more of these formats!
  • @whirlwindAs
I loved everything about this video! Your performance and humbleness, the editing and the great music choice. And your comments while you were resting were very interesting. I wanted so badly to see you compet. It's finally there. Best video since the one with Adam :p Thank you for this great climbing content and your awesomeness. Please more comps!

This was edited like a movie but felt more organic. One of the greatest videos Magnus has made.
  • The flow state magnus talked about , I could feel it from the video , entirely different mentality , instead of saying its hard and i cant do it , it transformed to i need more points and i can do it. it was amazing to watch
  • @Surberus1066
Coming from a completely different sports background, I absolutely love the format for this competition. Decide your skill level and give it a go. When you conquer that, push yourself to the next. Absolutely awesome.

This was a really good video. I really enjoyed seeing this style of competitive format as someone who doesn't rock climb. Watching you upgrade your score by climbing harder difficulties was really cool! congrats on the third place, I would definitely enjoy watching more of these :D
