I lived in Pine Cove for 15 years. I now live in the city and miss falling asleep to the sounds of crickets and owls instead of traffic, sirens, and police helicopters.

I lived literally at the state park when I was in high school my stepdad was the chief ranger there and they had houses that the families lived in so it was just a five minute walk into town. Lots of good memories.

There is the Fairview market, and the Village market, that was not mentioned!

Between the disappearances and the commentary on Reddit, something weird is going on there

I’ve noticed a lot of houses for sale on Zillow. Is this normal? I read maybe it’s because of the fire insurance. Sorry for the silly question, we visited yesterday but loved it. Definitely a town that doesn’t want to grow too fast. Love the charm of it.
  • Many people have gone missing up there talk around town its a serial killer !

  • I wasn’t expecting this advertisement to come up. Looks like a rustic nature getaway!

A highlight for our family staycation here is the food, for a small town, it punches WAY above it's weight class. Only issue is when baked good get sold out and indoor seating is limited in most places during cold months.

Plans to clear cut the forest and bulldoze flat more land for development of multistory condos is moving forward. Migrant tent housing is planed for summer

Great area, just have to be watchful for local traffic. They tail gate you and show no respect when you are on mountain roads. (con) Even in snow the local will tail gate you. If your not a local some retailers dont show that they appreciate the visitors. Overall food choices are good, be careful of locals driving.

The nice part about Idyllwild is that it’s in California, so you don’t run into too many ignorant magas there. So many ppl send their kids or go with families from all over CA to summer camps there, so that town has built up a nice progressive atmosphere which is unique for a mountain town. ❀
