My top three this year were: - A man called ove - Fredrik Backman -The poppy war trilogy - R.F. Kuang - The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern, which broke my four year long reading slump
  • @micheledarouni
My favorite reads of the year were most of them based on your recommendations: - The Sword of Kaigen - The Daevabad trilogy - The Poppy War trilogy - The Green Bone Saga - The Stormlight Archives (still have book 4 to read) - The Beast of Beaswick - Take a Hint, Dani Brown

I read Song of Achilles earlier this month in about two days and of course ended up ugly crying at 2am, went to bed, woke up next day and re-read the last 30 pages, cried some more. So good! She said it took 10 years for her to write it, and it doesn't feel like that at all, it seems so effortless because she's so skilled. The writing is deceptively simple but the imagery is so complex.

the expanse is spectacular!! i hope you continue it to the end, the character work is subtle and slow but you get so attached to the ones that stick around long enough to properly connect with. least i did, anyway. i started it this year and im currently on book 7, cant wait to read the last two!! i hear its a good close! thrilled you started it; its a big commitment but its so worth it!
  • The moment you brought up Pachinko, I fell in love with your channel. It’s no. 1 on my list. Truly one of the best books I’ve ever read!
