Division of Family Services' Permanency Conference KINSHIP ENGAGEMENT

The Virginia Department of Social Services' Division of Family Services, hosted its 2nd Annual Permanency Conference, Kin First Virginia: Achieving Permanency Through Engaging and Empowering Families, on December 12-13, 2023 in Harrisonburg, VA at the Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Valley Conference Center. Speakers, attendees and community partners echoed the evidenced based fact that children are better off with their families. A variety of workshops and resources for public and private community partners in the arena of family engagement, kinship, recruitment, foster care, pre and post adoption services and Interstate Compact of the Placement of Children were available.
