This is my first historical animation, finished in September 2013. It was on a separate channel for 9 years but it's time I put it in my archive! A video describing Columbus' journeys to America and the consequences that forever followed. I will be uploading a newer version of this saga with better animation and edited historical info. Please enjoy!

i remember first watching this video several years back. Then I found this channel through the Thanksgiving video. I had a feeling whoever animated and narrated both videos were the same person. Looks like I've got my confirmation! hahah

His name must be remembered but also the bad he did.

I think this is a good video. It acknowledges Colombus' good and bad qualities, without exaggerating either of them. I also like the statement at the end that, if he never sailed west, someone else would have. I don't like how so many paint him as uniquely evil - at worst he was just a conquistador like the dozens who led expeditions after him. One thing I'd change about this video is to mention how the Encomandita system, which became prevalent through the Spanish New World, seems to be based on medieval European serfdom - which at the time of the first voyage had only been abolished in Iberia for twenty years.

If all my history lessons came in cartoon format and explained as juicy gossip like this, I would have learned so much 😂

Damn, Columbus was arrested? Didn’t know that

I remember watching this a while ago, while I was still in middle school. During that time, I also remember making whiteboard animations inspired by this vid. It's nice to see that it is back up again. (Apparently, it seems as if this video was moved from the other channel to this channel for efficiency.)

This video is excellent. THIS is how you do it: integrating the Heroic and Progressive through Pragmatism and Empiricism! It’s all about interests!

I vaguely remember learning about some of this stuff in school. What a tragedy.

Interesting; Chinese and Mongolians called "White people" - "弗兰克" (fulan'ke); "franks", in Song and Yuan Dynasties.
