My attempt at recreating the Super Smash Bros. 64 opening with assets from both Smash 4 and Ultimate (using trailers, renders, and screenshots). Rather than making an N64 style trailer for Ultimate, I instead chose to make a modern version of the 64 opening, complete with the original roster!

I started this project a month or two ago and then kept it to the side, but then I picked it back up when the Ultimate Direct brought back the hype.

Original Opening (beginning):    • Super Smash Bros ALL INTROS 1999-2014...

"You gotta beat the game on Very Hard with one life without dying, then you'll unlock Luigi!" Ah, elementary school...

The moment Mario when from 64 to Ultimate, I was like "omg, this awesome!" Nice work!

Still the BEST "SUPER SMASH BROTHERS!!" by the narrator. I really miss that.

Thanks for everyone's responses and suggestions! By the way, the actual video starts at 0:20, I should've cut the opening segment a bit. Also, I get that some people were expecting a full-on one-to-one recreation with new animation and everything, and I get that some of the composition in the video doesn't exactly sync perfectly with the music, but I worked with the little source material that I had. Plus the lack of material is why the middle of the video kind of turns to a bunch of reused clips (with a little editing like the Yoshi slide and the removal of Mega Man from the “eye-logo” segment). I appreciate the suggestions, though!

This video deserves WAAAYY more views and likes (edit) Okay so it's over 3 months late and the video has almost 500K views and 25K likes so I think it got what it deserved :)

Absolutely legendary. Also I didn't realize how much I missed the Smash 64 menu music. It had that perfect "backstage prepping for the show" feel.
