A Debate Between Leaders (A Fire Emblem Video Essay)

I wonder if that very dagger that Dimitri gave Edelgard the will to stop being a child who pray to the goddess for salvation that will never come and instead realize she must cut her own path in life. In a way Dimitri could with that view be the one who set in the motion the steps that lead to Edelgard's war.

i really wish the dlc focused on those who slider in the dark instead of the new underground school faction. it would have been interesting to see how they came about, their view point and the full extend of their technology. its has always been my believe that the "missile strike" were launch from the blue sea star and that it was in fact an orbital weapon or some kind of space station.

The character writing in this game is seriously so good.

My favorite one is actually the one after the battle. Dimitri, who has spent the entire game obsessed with vengeance, extends a hand to Edelgard in friendship and mercy. Instead of accepting it, she takes the chance to use the same dagger he'd gifted her when they were kids. I didn't get it at first because I thought she should have realized she was beaten and that killing Dimitri wouldn't have accomplished anything, she would just have been cut down by Byleth immediately after. It just seemed so petty and out of character because everything she did wasn't personal but to help Fodlan. Then it occurred to me that she wasn't actually trying to kill Dimitri, she just wanted him to be the one to take her out.

What i dont get is ,if both leaders has lost their loves ones by Tragedy. How come Edelguard is the only one has a cool head? Is it because shes a women who cam handle her emotions better? Idk what i think that way.
