That feeling when you spend 100 hours with a character and watch him die staring at the sunrise

Arthur to Sister: “I shall try.” Arthur’s last words: “I tried. In the end, I did.”

She said goodbye multiple times because she knew that would be the last time they meet.

This Nun is such a great character, some call her a small side character but I call her one of the most important to Arthurs story.

The fact that Arthur doesn't know himself is so true. Every time he has the opportunity to help someone, he does it, yet he calls himself a bad man, he calls himself ugly, but if you groom him right, he might be the most handsome man in all the 4 states of the game. He thinks he's simple and dumb but when you look at his journals and his drafting skills, he has an artistic sensibility that no one else in the gang seems to possess.

A real bomb shell of a line. You dont often hear this from protagonists, especially someone as strong and manly as Arthur. Makes him so much more human. Excellent writing

"You don't know me." A line Arthur said multiple times to multiple people who viewed him in a good way. You got your redemption in the end, Arthur. Rest in peace.

Sister Calderon is exactly what Arthur needed. She isn't overly preachy and she knows that Arthur needs a more grounded talking to rather than religious jargon. She's even willing to admit her own moments of weakness.

“Take a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act.” Words we should all live by.
  • He says he is afraid, yet he fights until his last breath to help others start over. What a character!

Hearing the baddest outlaw in the west say “I’m afraid” sent chills down my spine
  • 3:13 - the voice actor absolutely nails it. The hesitation, then the crack in his voice. It’s all really well done.
  • God the face of Arthur when he says "I am afraid". A masterpiece.

“I’m afraid”. Two words. That’s all it took for me to realize just how much I love Arthur.

One very understated part of this scene I really like is how when Arthur says he has TB, Sister doesn't flinch. She doesn't move away from him, doesn't hold her breath, doesn't even blink or change her expression. From this you can tell she's used to being around the sick and dying. Not only that, she doesn't judge him when he admits to manslaughter. She may be the most truly Christian character I've ever seen in a video game. Like Arthur, I'm not much for belief myself, but I like Sister Calderon. She reminds me of my grandmother.

2:20 This face from arthur here is what a lot of guys do when they are about to cry but hold it back. This game has so much detail i swear.

1:12 I showed this scene to my grandmother back in 2019, cause it meant so much to me. She loved the message about taking a gamble that love exists. She passed away last month and now every time I come back to this scene, it's like I'm talking to her again.
