Slava the Armorsmith makes a Mandalorian Helmet reimagined as a medieval piece of armor. Using a blend of historical construction and some modern elements we answer the question, what if Star Wars took place on Earth in our past and what the weapons and armor of the Star Wars and the Mandalorian would look like if it did. @ArmorySmith is making a full suit of steel Mandalorian armor. This is they way! Do you want to see more? Do you think that we will see a Mandalorian in Obi Wan season 2?

  • Those "magic trick" edits were absolutely brilliantly done, and I like that he showed the process at least once before doing those. Cut down the more tedious parts in a fun way!
  • @ThatWorks
For Those of you complaining about Slava's fun cuts in the edit and even going as far as to thumb down the video, I think you are missing the brilliance in him doing so. You see he showed you every process that goes into the metal forming at least once. In our videos we don't show repetitive processes in a video we simply cut it out after showing it once and move on. Instead of just editing processes out and cutting it from the film, he found a cleaver way of doing it that was fun and didn't subtract from the learning process. So you didn't lose anything, you just gained some clever and hard to pull of cuts that went with the Star Wars theme of the video. Please rethink your thumbs down or negative thoughts. I get that it's not for everyone, but pulling those cuts off the way he did was nothing short of brilliance and shows a tone of forethought. -Matt

According to Legends, when a Mandalorian coloured their armour according to the traditional meanings, gold was said to symbolise vengeance. I think that's rather appropriate. An awesome build by Slava, now I wonder if maybe you should make a 'historical' Darksaber to go along with it!
  • @Merennulli
Glad to see someone still making things hand-crafted instead of tool-crafted.
  • @DaroffApFire
Yo the editing/cuts that were done with him punching, tearing, and magically combining the metal into shape was AMAZING!
  • @P1K3L
I've heard tales of the mighty smackity technique, but to see it in action is incredible!
  • @thetalantonx
Without a doubt I would love to see Slava's take on the full armor, and would love to hear the rationale behind the choices. Different helmet and armor patterns mean different things in the established canon (and in the EU), like the difference between Din's Gunslinger helmet and the heavier styles some of the assault/heavies wore in the covert.
  • @CaptainBill22
I love how Slava edits his videos. I want to see the whole set now!
  • @darth_dan8886
I like how despite obviously originating from the "modern" Mandalorian helmet design, the end product actually resembles the ancient Mandalorian helmets, like the one Revan appropriated. Also kudos on inserting that little mando'a phrase on the visor!
  • I would love to see the rest of this mandalorian medieval armor. I am a nerd in both the Star Wars and medieval communities and this is perfect
  • That looks amazing! I would love to see the rest of the armour!
  • Im making my own helmet now and I'm very, very, very impressed by his work! For those of you who have not worked with hot metal before, it is finicky and stubborn, he works it like soft clay and made a masterpiece!
  • @br5ooksrwally
I would love for you guys to make this a series. Taking fantasy/sci-fi weapons and bringing them into reality as they likely would have looked had they been real
  • @N4g4r1d3r
I have to say that with the sped up hammering sections I finaly got a feeling of how long it actualy takes to build something amazing like this. If possible I'd like to see more What if? builds here.
  • @mrIsakify
I've heard legend that Slava's footage doesn't get sped up. He just has a fast forward mode on his body
  • @boges11
This video is proof that Slava is This Old Tony's padawan. Loved the video. The cuts were awesome.
  • @josuelservin
I know a little of almost all the process he masterfully shows in this wonderful video to truly apreciate the tremendous amount of work something like this entails, on top of that the edit is hilarious and really entertaining, thanks y'all for showing us this wonderful creation, this is deeply inspiring.
  • I think I'm in love with the whole deal. The editing, the process, the result. It's so chef's kiss amazing
