I sold Fiats for 12 years. I owned a condominium right on a major road and when a 124 twin cam would go by on a night I had my bedroom window open, the magical sound would wake me up.

Ahh, that sound and all is forgiven :-) I bought a 1971 BC many years ago. Bright yellow. I loved that car, but was, unfortunately, a poorly maintained example and a time when I did not have the money to maintain it. In the end, a drunk driver wiped it out while it was parked in the street. But just watching your video I am smiling from ear to ear.

I owned a 1971 Fiat 124 Sport Spider, the convertible version of this. These are very pretty cars and the engine is wonderful. The exhaust note is exceptionally nice. Great video!

Always liked the 124 coupe....your early one looks and sounds great.Good advice about buying and owning..Notice how much glass area in this type of car, fantastic visibility. 😎.
  • Nice video. My wife just a bought a 1971 Fiat 124 Spider. Not rusty and parts are relatively inexpensive. Not built like an old Volvo (I also have a 1966 Volvo 1800S) but built well enough and engineered well enough. The transmission design is far from perfect though as I remember having driven a Lada Niva for 11 years. Saying hello from Ontario Canada

Beautiful restoration - well done on a great job. My uncle had one back in 1974 and it amazed me as an 11 year old with its amazing exhaust note and acceleration. Gutted when someone stole it after 6 months but as a left hand drive in the UK it probably was shipped back to Europe.
  • Thank you very much for this review. It brought all the memories back to this car that I drove when I was younger. Especially your sound recording of the engine were spot on!

Always lusted for a 124 Sc but have not come across one I could consider. Family had Fiat cars and in my youth I had a 131 Racing, stupidly enough sold in favour for a old Jaguar that took 2 yrs to restore...Now got -84 Xj6. Thank you for uploading and happy driving.Cheers from Finland

I was the 124th thumbs up :) Be sure and nobody else like this video :) I have a 1970 124 Series 2 Coupe, my favorite of the several cars I own. Also does your Marelli clock work? Mine is always breaking and sadly someone figured out they use them in 1960s and 1970s Ferraris some years back, and instead of buying them for $50 now they charge $200 or $300 for them. Ridiculous.

The first generation were the most elegant and beautiful of the 124 Sort Coupes. My dream would be to upgrade the power train with the turbocharged and fuel injected 2 liter from a 1981 model year 124 Spider.
