The return of Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian Season 2's finale, realized here in full 4K HDR. This clip has been edited down to his only scenes and does not reflect the full events of the episode, or the film edit itself.

A new editing project where we recut the entirely of Star Wars The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 into 2 4.5 hour seamless feature length films, similar to the Clone Wars and Rebels 4K HDR Feature Length Edits I've done before.

The Mandalorian works as a serialized epic, with one chapter leading directly into the other in most cases. While a few small breaks and timeskips can be inferred, it turns out each season seems to be a continuous arc, like one very long feature film. So why not take advantage of that serialized nature and simply slice the show into that format for real?

This time, that's exactly what I've done. It will be available in both 1080p SDR and 4K HDR, like all of my other projects.

This is the luke skywalker we wanted from Disney. Dude just walked through a bunch of dark troopers like it was nothing. Calm, collected, and precise.
  • Seeing Luke in his prime was very special for all us Star Wars fans, such an incredible scene.

I'll never forget when Bo said "A Jedi?" My dad laughed and was like "No, THE Jedi." It was an awesome scene to allow me to see my dad relive a memory from when he was younger.

THIS is Luke Skywalker. THIS is the Luke from the cannon novels. The most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, the son of Anakin Skywalker. Thank you Jon Favreau.

Amazing how you see how long Mando struggles to keep up with the one Dark Trooper, only for Luke to destroy a whole fleet of them effortlessly. Really shows you how strong Luke was.

I love how his fighting style is actually pretty similar to Vader, just without the rage.

My dad is 70 years old. He was the biggest OT fan I know. He didn’t care much for the prequels but he acknowledges them. The Disney sequels he scoffs at, like most of us. But this literally brought him to tears. He has watched it dozens of times and will randomly still text me to this day while watching this. This is what everybody wanted. A lot of us, even very old men, still think of Luke Skywalker as their hero. And this is how we all wanted to see him. My dad is not a Star Wars nerd or anything like that these days, but this episode had a tremendously profound impact on him. A lot of people just wanted to see the real Luke Skywalker again, even just for once.
  • I love the petrified look from Moff Gideon at the mention of "Jedi." He knows, or dreads, that it means Luke. From the perspective of the Galactic Empire, Luke Skywalker was utterly terrifying. He single handedly destroyed the first Death Star, and he survived the second Death Star while Darth Vader and the Emperor did not. He was a Jedi Master. By the Imperial era, Jedi were largely a superstitious myth, most thinking they weren't real. But the fallen remnants of the Empire very much knew what Jedi were, and the one who ended their reign.

I like how this scene highlights the difference between jedi and normal warriors. Mando had to give his all to beat one dark trooper. Luke walked through all of them with minimal effort.

You can see Gideon's face in full terror after Bo-Katan said 'A Jedi.' He knew full well who this Jedi was. The one who, according to Empire Rumours, was responsible for both Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader's deaths.

Even when just rewatching this scene, tears come to my eyes and my hands shake. THIS is my Luke Skywalker.

I originally thought Ahsoka had managed to get an X-Wing as it flew in, but the second I saw that green saber... oh man. The feels

I love the look of fear on Gideon’s face He knows that’s not just any Jedi. That’s the same Jedi that entered a room with both Vader and Palpatine and was the only one to walk out alive and escape the death star
  • You can just feel the power emanating from Luke. Calm, collected, calculating. Ruthlessly competent. Bravo!

I love how Moff Gideon was getting over excited thinking his Dark Troopers would get him out but, as soon as Luke showed up he entered a state of pure terror. That and how the Dark Troopers were entirely focused on retaking the bridge but, as soon as Luke entered the ship, he took priority over everything else.
  • He fights so much like Anakin did. You can really see the powerful strikes he's using are just like Anakin's Djem So style.
  • Greatest portrayal of what Jedi really is, a mythical being, someone who belongs in legends. A warrior with powers that seems surreal. Whose name and reputation, known in the entire universe, inspires respect and terror. Just like Harlock and Emeraldas in the Harlock Universe.
