My wife and I were staying with a friend and his wife in Aspen, CO, when this song came on, and stuck with me ever since. My wife's gone, the friends are gone, but this song, brings them back, and that beautiful weekend in Aspen.

I've seem MMM in concert 5 times. My darling husband has been gone 15 years tomorrow. When I listen to this song, I picture my horse riding, country music loving husband coming for me on his magic horse, Outlaw. I still have lots of living to do but when it's my turn, my husband will come on his horse to get me. ❤
  • Damn ! How the world has changed from when this song was first played over the radio. Sad how far we strayed. Brings a tear to my eye.

My wife loved this song. She passed away in December 2020. I had this played at her funeral. Simply beautiful!

Back in the 70's I worked at a stable in Southern Wisconsin and remember this song playing on a small hand held radio in the barn and fell in love with it ever since. We named one of the new colts Wildfire after this song. Many fond memories of a beautiful and simple time.
  • My late husband and I attended a Seals & Crofts concert at the Dome outside Rochester, New York, many years ago, thanks to our friend Curt, who was the father-in-law of one of Seals & Crofts' roadies. Michael Murphey performed "Wildfire" that night at the concert. I think it was soon after the song was released. We met Michael and his wife before the show. Of course we were thrilled when we realized it was his song we had been hearing on the radio. We met Jimmy Seals and Dash Crofts after the show. What a wonderful evening and memory for a small-town couple! We were married for 60 years and still mentioned that evening throughout our time together.

  • A week before my Dad passed away, he told me this Song always reminded him of My Mother. I cannot listen to it without crying.
  • As a teenager I wanted to download this song but was not available in New Zealand - I left a message Michael Murphys website asking how I could purchase it - instead I got a personal email and a file of the song from Michael! One of the most influential songs for me

Michael achieved a sound not found in today’s popular music—enchanting and soulful
  • Listening in 2021 the same girl at heart as the girl in the 70ies, anyone else?

I was a senior in high school when this song hit the airwaves. Back then, it was just another tune written by another country singer. I'm now 66 years of age. I've been listening to this fabulous page out of my past and am amazed at just how quickly it conjures up so many different yet poignant memories each and every time I hear it. It's almost as though I'm staring at a reflection in in a hazy window but can never pin down whether or not I'm on the outside looking in or vice versa. Loves that have been lost, loves that have been won and some that never even had a chance. I will always drift back to my youth whenever this songs graces my sense of hearing and I will always be grateful for the peace and tranquility that it provides. Thank You M.M.M for this precious gift!
  • Thanks mom and dad(R.I.P.) for showing me good music since my early childhood.

Lost my wife of 52 years almost 4 years ago and her birthday is a few days off. The pain never stops. She rode in horse shows when she was young and I still picture as a young girl riding. This song lives in my heart. I loved her so much that for one day with her I would give anything.....

My deceased wife loved horses, and she loved this song. We played it at her funeral. This is such a great version. Thanks MMM and company for such great work!
  • Im 68 in June 2024, and it sounds as good today as it did back in the day. Classic masterpiece ❤️
