  • 21CB gets often overshadowed by American Idiot & Dookie, but this album is a masterpiece

Mama, misery, whiskey bar and viva la gloria The four horsemen of the apocalypse

Currently homeless. Hated where I used to live with a passion. Funny how there truly is no place like home when you have nowhere to go. This song is fucking class man. This world is fucked, missing a place you hate, just for some sort of safety and warmth.

People: this song reminds me of great memories I had about my childhood Song: is about child abuse
  • I love this song for such an odd reason. When I was younger, my family went to Hershey, Pennsylvania for a vacation. It was a twelve hour drive and we listened to this album over and over again throughout the whole drive because my brother was just getting into Green Day and loved this album so much. I really liked it too, but this song TERRIFIED me. I would always start shaking and sometimes cover my ears whenever it was playing. I listened to it a few weeks ago for the first time in a while, and I love it! I can't stop listening to it, it's so cool!

This really was an great album, it's underappreciated, I know the reason many dislike it, but it really has that charm you can't resist coming back to it, 21 Guns, East Jesus Nowhere, etc. Some of the songs seem a bit emo/ or sad, I guess people say, but they tug at the heart strings which kind of can seem relatable in some instances. Just outright memorable, and can be pretty fun to listen and rock out to!
  • [Verse 1] Little girl, little girl, why are you crying? Inside your restless soul, your heart is dying Little one, little one, your soul is purging Of love and razor blades, your blood is surging [Chorus] Run away from the river to the street And find yourself with your face in the gutter You're a stray for the Salvation Army There is no place like home when you got no place to go [Verse 2] Little girl, little girl, your life is calling The charlatans and saints of your abandon Little one, little one, the sky is falling Your lifeboat of deception is now sailing In the wake, all the way, no rhyme or reason Your bloodshot eyes will show your heart of treason Little girl, little girl, you dirty liar You're just a junkie preaching to the choir [Chorus] Run away from the river to the street And find yourself with your face in the gutter You're a stray for the Salvation Army There is no place like home when you got no place to go [Bridge] The traces of blood always follow you home Like the mascara tears from your getaway (Gloria!) You're walking with blisters and running with shears So unholy, sister of grace [Chorus] Run away from the river to the street And find yourself with your face in the gutter You're a stray for the salvation army There is no place like home...
  • This song is so underrated. It has to be one of my all time favorite Green Day songs
  • @mrspy5736
Their guitar will always be hypnotic, Green Day can make that guitar SING man...and it has so much soul.

Such a well written masterpiece. I honestly can't see why people choose to hate on Green Day.

this song holds a special spot in my heart for summer memories. me and a couple of my friends went to another friends house and sat in his garage playing Rock Band Green Day on his old Wii. I played the drums, ethan played the guitar, and riley played the bass. this song always brings back those fond memories of just having fun during summer
  • @silverskeleton
This is honestly one of my favorites off this album, it's so underrated
  • @Anthony-ob5fy
When I hear the piano tune at @0:23 it reminds me of the tune to Misery on their album Warning
  • @insanity_rev
This song is like Tim Burton's art style, am I right?
