Wizards and Warriors Channel fantasy animated documentary video series on the lore Warhammer 40k Universe and the Horus Heresy, started with the discussion of how the humanity fared in the 3rd millennium and beyond, how the Emperor started uniting the Humanity and the beginning of the Great Crusade, as Emperor and his sons - the Primarchs use the newly created space marines to bring the Humans together through conquest. They would fight the Xenos, including the Orks and this episode featured the battle of Ullanor against an Orkish Waaagh (   • Warhammer 40k - Start of the Great Cr...  ). The Primarchs grew dissatisfied when the militaristic side of the Imperium began waning in importance, and more power was given to normal humans. Many secretly broke the rules made by the Emperor, unknowingly opening themselves to the machinations of the Chaos Gods. While all this was happening, the newly appointed Warmaster, Horus Lupercal, struggled to keep his brothers in check and prove that he was a capable leader - the seeds of chaos were sown (   • Warhammer 40k - Seeds of Chaos - WH40...  ). Horus falls to Chaos due the plots of Erebus, leading to the Burning of Prospero, which was one of the greatest misunderstandings in the history of the Imperium leading to the fall of the Thousands Sons to chaos (   • Horus Falls - WH40k Lore #1.3 DOCUMEN...  ). He was now ready to begin the Civil War at Isstvan III (   • Battle of Isstvan III - Civil War Beg...  ), and the victory there allowed the Traitorous legions to ambush the Loyalists at Isstvan V, leading to the dropsite massacre (   • Dropsite Massacre at Isstvan V - Civi...  ). In the aftermath, Horus continued gaining ground, winning the battle of Phall and taking over a large chunk of galaxy (   • Galaxy in Flames - Battle of Phall - ...  ). Some loyal Legions, including the Dark Angels, just learned about the heresy and started making their moves, leading to the Battles of Chondax System, Alaxxes Nebula, Prospero and Signus Campaign (   • Battle of Chondax and Signus Campaign...  ), while on the side of the galaxey, the Fate of Ultramar was decided in the battles of Calth and Nuceria.

4:30 - "This entire operation was planned by the Ultramarine" - think there's a typo there

More 40k or Warhammer old world content 🎉🎉🎉 this series has exceeded my expectations

I feel bad for Angron. Man was a good dude before the nails and was meant to be an empath to stop conflict between the Primarchs. He never wanted the implants and he never wanted to be a daemon of khorne

Guilliman sure knows how to get his legion decimated and his entire fleet destroyed, multiple times
  • @jiyuhong5853
the thumbnail looks like Gulliman punching off the head of a word bearer
  • This is the battle that made me love the smurf's, their sheer unexpected furious tenacity in the face of word bearers bullshittery is a joy to read.

At least mentioned firendship of Argel and Kharn. Forgeting Rylanor was already a disgrace to the Emperor.

I honestly would pay a stupid amount of money to watch this series. Once again your artist did a phenomenal job. The fact that you do this without a paywall is amazing. Very well done WW

For some context, in angron primarch novel, the nails are described by their librarians as having a black spider-like presence in the warp(which could explain why librarians themselves couldn't be implanted with them and why angron suffered much more in presence of librarians/psykers in general). Still on Angron, it was known way before the battle that the nails were killing him(never out loud). Regarding the destroyed abyss class, that was an underrated event and book. Lastly, it's customary in audio books that c in nuceria sounds more like s rather than k, and e in macragge being silent. Props to portrait maker, managed to give a somewhat battlescarred appearance to lorgar and air of dignity to erebus (the asshole, many crimes are attributed to his usually smug face, even in the very last book in the siege of terra segment).
  • The illustrations are pretty great man, well done really brings the lore alive.

I HATED the scale of armies used by scifi writers in 40k . One million soldier might sound a lot but Germany alone sent over 3 Million soldiers in operation Barbarossa so you think the Imperium of Man with its hive worlds and forge worlds would see 1 million guardsman as a rounding error. It's like how old scifi books described distant worlds in the mere millions of km because it sounded like a lot but in reality, it wouldn't even get you to Mars.
  • Almost makes me want to reread the Heresy. Almost! Its soooo many bloody books lmao
