Never letting a challenge stop her from moving forward, Nadia now has the opportunity to do everything that she always dreamed of doing; living in full freedom and pursuing her studies and trying to help her home country and her own family. A woman from Afghanistan, currently residing in Barcelona, Spain comes to us to share her life experiences while living in her home country of Afghanistan. Her story of loss, tenacity and perseverance are both inspiring and heart-wrenching. Her resilience is incredible and her goal is to spread awareness about the importance of education and the role that plays in rebuilding her home country. She is dedicating her life to empowering her people in Afghanistan through education so they can continue to be a voice in fighting for control of their home. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I met Nadia at Hostel Obispo days prior to her making this speech, her story was humbling and inspiring. I remember her sitting with me in the shade and practicing her speech, it was very important to her to get it right, to convey not only the story but to inspire all the people to choose PEACE. I miss you Nadia!

We are the same age and I remember my life in 1996. I feel sorry for all the things she had to face when she was so young 💔, although I’m glad she had the chance to start a new life in a new country ❤️
