Excalibur is right, they do need a good amount of care but at the same time not as much as a dog or cat. I had a 100 gallon tank for two dragon fish and a few ghost shrimp, then a 75 gallon tank for 6 gold fish and more ghost shrimp. They all grew up to a good size. What I loved was when I came up to the tank they all would swim up to me but swim away for any other person. They remembered me.

Matt, take it from a longtime fish owner, that goldfish will need at least a 100 gallon tank when full grown, a filter, and water changes about every 2 weeks. They are not the easiest pets to care for. I'm telling you this out of respect and the belief that you can take on the big responsibility of goldfish ownership. I trust that you will do the right thing when it comes to your new scaled friend and provide it a proper home. I love your channel and your vids. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Goldfish get huge. You definitely need a filter. They like cold water. They eat and eat and eat so you have to watch how much you feed them. They like pebbles because they pick and dig through them. Seriously, you need a massive tank or pond for a goldfish with a very good filter.

WARNING: Fish experts below! 😋 Just a note I did give them away (won a 2nd one in a video not out yet) I didn't know you needed like 50 gallon tanks. I wish carnivals would give out fish easier to care for.

That is one of the cutest looking carnivals. My least favorite carnival prize to cart home are the giant, oversized plushes. Those are a Pain!

Please please please do not support these carnival games that give fish as a prize. I know people think they’re “just fish” but it’s not fair how they suffer. Most will go to homes that never wanted a fish and have little to no knowledge of their needs. Most will die in a couple of days due to lack of education but also the stress they’re put under during the process. Goldfish are such lovely relaxing pets, not prizes. Matt if you did win one please watch some videos on their care, there’s lots of amazing ones on YouTube. Or give the little guy to someone who’s going to care for it the best it can! Awesome shot though!

I won a Goldfish from the Carnival once. Turned out it wasn't a Goldfish. Found this out when she outgrew the bathtub then the swimming pool. After a tearful farewell she was air lifted and released into the ocean. Never did find out what she actual was but i do know once a year she returns to the area she was released in just to say Hi. Last time she had two baby what ever she is with her : ' ).

We won a fish one time at the fair. Took it home and plopped it in the tank. It grew to be the size of my hand. And when it died we tried flushing it down the toilet. It got stuck so my dad had to take the toilet off the floor and fish it out lol. Damn thing lived forever!! Good childhood memory that I'll always remember.

You will need a large tank for your goldfish. Bowls stress them out, and they’re way too small. A filter and minimal decoration are highly recommended.
