The Sega Dreamcast was the first entry into the sixth console generation, beating the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube to the punch and, though this head start didn't do the Dreamcast any favours in the long run, console was not without its highlights. Famous hits such as Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur sit alongside revered classics, such as Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue, but today we're digging much deeper for the stuff you've never even heard of. Spent plenty of time playing Shenmue 1&2, virtua tennis and Seaman on dreamcast. Good times.

I remember when it came out. My friend was one of those kids whose parents bought them everything under the sun. The games looked amazing at the time and they actually still look good. The antialiasing what the big deal that gen and the Dreamcast looked buttery smooth. Great console. Too bad sega made some bad financial decisions. That was the first console that looked better than the arcades. That was a defining moment for gaming

Toy commander was one of the best games on Dreamcast. Needs a remake.

Dreamcast is the only old console I still use semi-regularly. Love it.
  • @yotaruvegeta
I still dream about what wild world we would be in if Sega could stay in the console business
  • @TrillyThough
My all time favorite console. It was so ahead of its time.
  • @MononokeMoro
Love the Jet Set Radio series. Really hoping for a new game.

the dreamcast is my all time favourite console with some great exclusives so thank you for releasing this video
  • This was the last console I was ever excited for. When it came out I was so blown away. My dad bought blue stinger with it and I was absolutely hooked. Grinding just to get that plasma sword. So good.
  • I remember playing Blue Stinger on the Dreamcast with my dad. We had the Japanese version, but sadly the game always failed to load at some point. We never finished it
  • EGG was this random game I bought from the local game store when I was still in HS for $3. Never touched it until a few years ago, and there was so much more to it than I was expecting. Great game. Wish I actually played it back in the day.

I still play my Dreamcast every day 😊.. Seaman... Code Veronica... Bass Fishing......"A big one is coming near!" 🤣

God I love the Dreamcast. Have just got the cables require to link mine up to a modern tv.

I'm so glad that someone knows Tech Romancer as it was one of my favourite gems on the DC. Great video overall with a few games that I wasn't aware about!

I cannot believe you guys put Ooga Booga on the list! I was waiting through the video to come here and mention it myself. I guess instead I will cosign this. Ooga Booga was a fantastic and super fun game. I have such fond memories playing that with my younger brother back in the day. We still bring it up to this day. Play it with a friend if you ever get the chance!!

A surprisingly underappreciated game is VIRTUA FIGHTER 3tb. It's lots of fun, especially if you can get your hands on the ASCii fighting pad (2D controller)

I would very much love to see lists of 10 average games for every console.
  • A couple other obscure ones I remember enjoying: Maken-X, a first person slasher from Atlus about a guy possessed by a demon sword, which is interesting by itself, and it has a very SMTish vibe due to shared production staff. Also, Evil Twin, a third person platformer through a Tim Burton-esque dark dream world, kind of like if Psychonauts and American McGee's Alice had a deformed baby.
