Man this takes me back. I live in the city now where thunderstorms just get drowned out by manmade sounds until they get really close, but when I was younger I would sit in our countryside backyard hours before a storm would arrive, listening to the distant thunder growing ever louder. I wouldn’t do anything. I’d just sit there, listening, focussing on that low rumble and forgetting all my troubles.

Starts playing this video for sleep. Actual storm starts outside. Turns video up to max volume.

I'm suffering from a terrible, terrible bout of sensory overload. After combing through several rain and thunder videos, this is the only one that's managed to calm me down. I literally cried in relief. Thank you. Update: I still come back to this video when I get overwhelmed or just need to calm down, it's very wonderful. I hope you're all having a lovely day!

I don't know why everyone in the comment section is so sweet but I hope you all have a better day or evening thanks to those sounds. Remember you're not the only one listening to the storm. It's like there's an actual storm and we're all comfortably resting and getting in a right state of mind listening to it. No one can take that tranquility away from us. This is by far the best thunder recording I’ve found online. I only wish it were long enough to last the whole night.

Open window, a small fan in the corner blowing cool air passed me, rumbling thunder in the distance (from my headset). Feels like it is actually happening outside. Hmmm, it is so relaxing. Clearing my head. It is so much easier to go to bed after this.

As a lifelong camper, hiker and climber from Seattle, I can say this is one of the few rain in tent videos that sounds authentic. Thanks for not just putting up a tent picture with rain on the street sounds. The drumming sound of rain on fabric is distinct. Lulls me right to sleep

I struggle with horrible anxiety and paranoia among other things like adhd and depression because of my BPD and listening to rain at night reminds me of how my mom plays rain noise in her room every single night and it helped me a lot as a little kid ❤ Rain has always helped sooth my anxiety but i so still struggle everyday i cant go to school let alone leave my house because of it. i hope one day it will go away. just wanted to share my thoughts to an empty screen if you read this, thanks take care my friend ❤
