Bereits viele hochranginge Künstler haben Andrew Lloyd Webbers Fassung von „Pie Jesu“ aufgenommen, Gregorian aber haben sich dem Klassiker nun mit einem ganz besonderen Ansatz gewidmet und Kontratenor Narcis als Gast mit an Bord geholt. Im Rahmen des neuen Albums „Pure Chants“ verleiht der erfolgreichste Chor der Welt dem Song einen puristischen gregorianischen Glanz und liefert damit den Soundtrack zum Weihnachtsfest.
Die Band hat dazu auch ein stimmungsvolles Video bereitgestellt, welches die feierliche Atmosphäre des Songs wunderbar in unsere winterliche Vorweihnachtszeit transportiert.

Hard to believe this beautiful song is actually a modern piece. It has such an ancient feel to it. I started crying by the end of the second word, and said a prayer for all my family who are no longer in my life, only in my memories.

And it is a spiritual experience for those with ears to hear, hearts to be touched, souls be given a glimpse of heavenly light and sense an all pervading atmosphere of the love of our Heavenly Father.
