One 1914 Christmas football match ended with the Germans winning 3-2. There may have been others that day. The reference to penalties is that whenever England play Germany in a major tournament it usually ends in a draw, leading to the result being decided in a penalty shoot out. England never win.

About the soccer match: there is this saying "a football match lasts 90 minutes and in the end Germany wins". Germany is somewhat of a nemesis to England when it comes to football. Hence the misery of the the soldiers in the movie "Dog Soldiers" being stuck in an exercise while Germany and England played one of the many matches against each other (in which England totally kicked our asses). So the supposedly lost match in 1914 is poking fun at the post WW2 football duels between England and Germany. These guys here are so awesome. Their humor and attention to detail is absolutely wonderful.

As a longtime squire viewer I can only recommend MORE! Love both his IRL and War Thunder skits (most have nothing to do with the game). Great video as always Mr. Terry.
