Can't believe this is the last song Nat King Cole recorded just days before he entered the hospital for cancer treatment. Early Dec 1964, then February 1965 he died. Amazing talent.

Let's show some appreciation for the person that makes all these lyrics video's of old songs for vevo
  • I love how back then singing was so much simpler. I mean, don't get me wrong. I love me some belting, riffing and running, harmonies and stuff, however, I feel like people often forget that singing isn't always about how high you can sing or how many ornaments you master. It's about telling stories, yours or others, it's about connecting with the listener and making them feel something. You don't need much for that. You just have to be authentic. When people cover this song nowadays, they oversing it. They do too many runs and you don't even pay attention to the beautiful lyrics. I'm a singer too and sometimes I feel pressured to sound a certain way cause otherwise I'll be less of a vocalist. Going back and hearing songs like this makes me trust my singing. Here's to the classics!

People don’t realize how much skill it actually takes to sing like this. It’s often so over looked but it’s actually not that easy. To be able to sing so effortlessly that it looks as if you’re normally talking is a skill that not many people have nowadays. But that’s what the 40’s and 50’s mastered. It’s classy and elegant. Too bad there’ll never be another generation who can do it. What a shame.

An incredible voice, in a different, much more difficult time. Not auto-tune, not effects, just pure talent.

"Take my heart, and please don't break it." I love those lyrics ❤❤
  • Probably one of the greatest performers ever. What a voice...! And a great musician, too. A timeless song about love. Just the right song to make you feel better on a dark, rainy day. And a great song to dance to with the one to love. Guys like Nat King Cole are rare. Of course there will talents now and then-but the genius will always be rare. Nat was a genius, I think. He was cool, the way he smiled to his audience was unique. I am too young, I could not witness him live on stage but I am sure those shows were great. I will raise my glass to one of the greatest performers ever. Thanks for this great music. Heavy Metal greetings from Germany to all who love Nat, too.

4/27/21: Such soothing sounds. In my midlife years, I'm finding that I enjoy music from my mother's era.❤❤❤
