Every time I listen to this song, I cry because of how tragic the story is. Here’s my interpretation of the lyrics. This guys meets this amazing girl, but doesn’t want to fall in love with her because of how many failed relationships he’s been in. But he eventually goes for it and does fall in love with her, and her back to him. They spend the time of the lives with each other, helplessly in love. But after a while, she dies in a car crash and the guy spirals down harder than he ever has before, on the verge of killing himself. Yet he fights and lives for her, trying to get over her and live a new life without her. And he sometimes sees/feels her around, like she’s haunting him. I’m not sure how to interpret the last line ‘fall with me, if you really die with me though…’ but I have a feeling maybe he does kill himself. Absolutely tragic love story told through an amazing song. I love it, it’s more than just words and sounds, it’s a life.
